This'll be an invert. With as many inversions as I can squeeze in. This weird thing right here is the second half of a weird jo-jo roll straight outta the station.

I'm a little rusty at this coaster building - hence the thread name - so yeah shaping might be a little off for a while.

There's some of the lift track. I'll see if I can't get one of the inversions to wrap around the lift. I don't know how big this thing will be. All of my past coasters I had at least some ideas for the layout all ready to go and I planned out alternate layouts if needed. For this, I've got nothing. Your guess is as good as mine.

Comment... if you want. :)

It’s good to see something from you again! Jojo rolls are always cool, and they’re uncommon on inverts.

^ Thanks, Sweetie Belle Fried. Wait, there are inverts with Jojo rolls?

This is just a mini update as some sort of proof that I was still working on this thing.

1201191149

I created the top section of the lift hill.

1201191150

This is just because I wasn't using enough pieces already.

1201191257

Those are some more support towers for the lift. I'm estimating the lift will be about 17 yellow rods tall. I'll have to replace those supports with the normal 3D ones. I'm either running out of yellow half moons already or a few hundred more of them are hiding in a box somewhere. Also, I'll be alternating the colors. Granite to yellow to granite to yellow and so on. Just like I did with Ningen and Toxic.

Forum, I do have some ideas for a layout now: station --> Jojo roll (1) --> diagonal lift --> toxic snake dive (2) --> dive loop (3) --> fake loop around lift (4) --> criss-cross butterfly (5&6) --> 0-g-roll (7) --> criss-cross cobra roll (8&9) --> 0-g-roll (10) --> flattened dive loop (11) --> in-line twist (12) --> station

Yeah it's pretty sick if I do say so myself. :P The second 0-g-roll would be going over the in-line twist and that's going to look (in Rainbow Dash's voice) So Awesome!

Probably not going to be able to do all 12 inversions realistically, but I'm sure as cell going to try.

Good luck... 12 is a lot even for 17 yellow rods of height. Hope to see you do it though!

12 inversions will be awesome. I might try and build an invert at some point when I have the space for a roller coaster. Last one was Montu and we all know how that turned out...

Love the lift structure so far. I'm a sucker for an aesthetic coaster.

Thanks. :) I'll try to get as close to 12 as I can. This is like from an alternate universe where Smiler is an invert.

Thanks M8. I can assure you this will be an aesthetic coaster. Just wait until you see the station.

Since you guys seem to really wanna see what I have, I took not one picture but several:

SnmbwSS.jpg

This here's an over-exposed shot of a SpongeBob episode I'm watching. If you look closely, however, you'll notice a lift structure and then some.

YCTnJPo.jpg

oQ2osEv.jpg

This one is a little shaky.

64fcE01.jpg

The top of the lift structure stands at 18 yellow rods tall. The track itself will be just a little taller than Ningen, which was like 16 yellow rods tall or something. Like Ningen, I will be alternating colors. The lift has yellow and metallic green rods, but the toxic dive drop (you guys'll love it) has red and granite rods. The first element will be a criss-cross butterfly, making up the 3rd and 4th inversion. (The first one being the Jo-Jo roll and the second one being the toxic dive drop).

Comment... if you want. :)

Oh, how I've missed saying that.

Edit: This just in: I'm naming this "Toxic Butterfly" and I'm going to make a track for it as well as the logo and ugh this is gonna be bucking SICK!!!

Nice start! I love the idea of doing a Jojo roll on an invert. I guess the closest thing would be Banshee's roll, which I've heard is a pretty fun element. It's also nice to see a huge box structure, it reminds me of Templar which was one of the first coasters I saw on YouTube that introduced me to SSC.

Looks sweet as! Very curious as to what a Toxic Snake Dive looks like.

Tornado at Särkänniemi Amusement Park in Finland has a couple of inline rolls that look like Jojo Rolls! Volcano at KIngs Dominion also had 3 of them :-D

Thanks! Yeah, me too. I've changed it into a tube structure for easier storage.

Thanks! Though it's definitely a lot smaller than before.

*snip*

Thanks! A Toxic Snake Dive is like a rolling dive that twists as it dives. Eh... I'm looking for a JoJo roll that comes right out of the station. Before the station, riders don't have time to really look at it before going in whereas with Jo-Jo rolls, they do.

I am excited to see more construction ;)

Thanks! Same.

Forum, it's been quite some time. Things have been crazy for me. I've had to move to an even smaller house. Which is almost okay since I'm having trouble finding the time to build anymore with college projects taking away most of my energy. I originally planned this to have 20 inversions and have a massive elevator lift, but that's not likely to happen, if not because of the space then because of my realizing that I keep aiming too high. I want this to be a relaxing build. It will be future factory themed.

Here's my prediction: in the future, the rising global population will result in parks having to either tear their coasters down or replace the usual lifts with elevator lifts to conserve space. This is a part of a story I was writing a while ago called 4152. The story was extremely, extremely dark. Someone from the year 4152 writes to someone in the year 2000 or something about how bad things are due to overpopulation. Everyone lives in tall skyscrapers. Thousands of floors per skyscraper and each floor has so many people that there's only about 2 grey rods of space at best. In this story, governments come together to (unwillingly) do what they knew they had to: eliminate humans. Part of this involved creating beautiful yet deadly creatures like Toxic Butterfly.

You've certainly got some interesting ideas for this ride. I like the idea of your theme. I'm all for dystopian cyberpunk style themes. But, i can't blame you for wanting to do a relaxed or easier build. I'm in the same boat right now.

I like the theme. That could definitely look really cool if done right. I did think the original plans seemed a bit ambitious, but it will be cool to see the same idea, even with not quite as much as 20 inversions.
