is just one pipe then maybe but he would probably make an actual tower. Also, I think
he graduated and might be going to college.

about this tutorial but I have a reason for this. I was goign to put it up about a month
ago but I had a problem with the launch on my coaster. The Knex were not strong
enough to hold the rubberbands (I doubled up the rubberbands to make the launch
smaller) and thus broke. Well I finally thought of a way to make it work and I think it
will. So now I have to redo the gearbox tutorial to make this work better. I dont think I
will do this untill winter break since I dont have the time.

secret behind all the torque in this.

box can now handle the force but now the main rod that the wheel is on bends and
thus the gear disconnects from the other gear. I added a second set of gears to stop
this but it didn't help much. I need to make the gearbox more structure to hold
this force. I have Thursday off this week and I MIGHT be able to work on it over the
weekend. We will see.

WAY stronger than the grey or other rods when using gears and pulleys at high pulling
power. They snap very rarely and are pretty good, you can order them from
K'nex.

wondered why they have those black rods when Knex(Company) making lifts and
stuff.

back. I was creating the windmill that you see on the K'nex Motor Pack
instruction booklet. I used a gray rod for the axle and I was most disappointed when it
bent and snapped! My mom rang K'nex and asked why it was so. They
then sent us a pack of about 6 black carbon rods, and they are incredibly useful for
places where the structure is under a LOT of stress, or in this case on gearboxes and
lifthill motors, particularly at the top of lifthills where there is the most stress from the
chain.

from the original coaster. I'm in luck, I can't wait to use this launch, I have
like 50+ carbon rods.

carbon rods because they are longer and you can fit more gears ect on them if you
need to. You also get two or more tan rods in the K'nex Motor Pack with the
K'nex motor that plugs into the wall.

The tan connector that keeps the gears on kept falling off but I fixed that. Now the
gears are slipping so I need to figure out what to do. In the tutorial I will have two
gearbox instructions: one for a long launch and one for a short launch with a lot of
force from the rubberbands.

may try a LSM magnet launch. If it works i will use it on a coaster and make a
tutorial.
