care about the lyrics. I listen to music for the rythmn. I don't care what they are
talking about. The song could be about home decorating and I wouldn't even
know it.

don't care about the lyrics. So from this knowledge I said that most people
don't care about the lyrics. I think it is you that has a stick up the

Westside: Why does it matter? If it bugs you that much, than you are taking a site
for building toys too seriously.
Sfmm_freek: Right or not, just calm down
dude. When you go off, people disregard your opinions.
Coastergeek: Your
wrong. Kids listen to music, without care of the lyrics (a...fair...amount of teens do
too). But people select their whole genre of music based on the lyrics. People dress
and act how their music's lyrics tell them. People recite their lyrics, for their own
comfort. Lol...nowadays, people vote the way their lyrics tell them too. Hell, people
even shoot up schools, with reinforcement from their lyrics.
And for the
topics sake: I was listening to the Suicide Machines.

Just because people posting lyrics bugs me doesn't
mean I am taking anything seriously. I just stated that it bugs me and I don't
understand why people do it because I don't know many people who would read
them. I am not saying that people don't care about lyrics, I just don't think
people care to read other people's lyrics when posted. I do listen to the lyrics of
songs but that is not what my posts were regarding.
For people to dress and
chose how to live their lives over music lyrics is pathetic. If someone can't
chose how to live their own life and have to resort to lyrics some band wrote to figure
out what to wear, that is pathetic. I doubt people vote the way music tells them since
most people who are up to date with all the latest music (teenagers) are the age group
of people least likely to go and vote.

I disagree, if it's
on the internet teens are the age group most likely to vote.

A lot more people do it than you
think...lol. If you see a guy walking down the street, and he is all punked out, then
chances are, he was influenced by his music. Same thing for any dude that dresses
like some gangsta/thug.

Obviously things are different
on your side of the Rockies, but here, soooo many people are influenced politically
through music. Here, Punkers are going from the town rascals to the community
patriots. Everywhere you here it--Dave Mathews, the Dixie chicks, the beastie boys,
green day, and a crap load of other people too. The artists realize that their biggest
group of listeners are teenagers, and they want to get it through the teens heads to
vote when they can.
But obviously in the lick of artists that you have
presented in the thread, you show no immediate sign of any of this.

Artist: The Distillers(Brodie is
HOTT)
Album: Sing Sing Death House
Track: Sick Of It All/Young
Girl(both great songs)
Previously:
Artist: Finch
Album:What it is
to Burn
Track:What it is to Burn/Awake(2 of the greatests songs evar)
EDIT: you are completly correct jmrtc, music is probably one of the largest
influence on people, especially teenagers. Goths, Emokids, Psycobillies, to add a few
more to the evergrowing list.
To add onto the list of bands that deliver
politically influential tracks: NOFX, every artist on the Rock Against Bush album(vol.
1&2), Incubus, and Fabulous Disaster.

BTW, The Mars Volta is the
most insane 'phatty-phat' band ever. Their music is like making love on a
beach while the waves lap at your feet. And there are no crabs to do bad things.
Well I'm only playing with that beach thing, but TMV is awesome.
Check my screenname for AOL, xvINERTIATICESP which happens to be one of
their songs off of DitC.

are a low percentage. If you look at a school you only see spots of peole that dress to
their music. About 70% of people at school are average and don't dress to their
music. Now a lot of people dress to what celebrities, including music artists, wear.
As to the song I am listening to is all songs by Staind.
