Voted! | Crazy how I've been here for almost 7 years. It feels like it was just last week when I was making my first construction thread ever for Sky Wasp. Sometimes I'll do some mental time travel and interact with past coasters of mine. I can almost feel the grooves of the rods, the wind
from the ceiling fan, and the sheer scales of the projects I did, especially with Ningen and Droplet. If I ever end up in a house big enough again, Droplet will definitely be re-made again, including that station roof. When I get home for the Summer, I'm going to make something HUGE. Even bigger than Neutron Star that will touch the ceiling. Unless we have to move, that is.

I voted too! It's funny how vividly I remember all these coasters, even the ones from almost a decade ago.
A few weeks ago I finally took apart the SFX Coaster model I built last summer, the one with the super lame layout but nicely automated moving track segments. I'm considering doing another small build in my bedroom since I've got the pieces in my closet!

The one that really got me was Burrito Speed!! I remember that so vividly!

I was around when he made Burrito Speed, too. And Power Glide. That was back when Google had their own videos. I watched it back when Google had videos. I was a REALLY big fan of The Burrito Master, and my name Speed Coaster Master is actually inspired by him. This was before I got my YT account back in 2009. I'm pretty sure it was during 2007 that I came up with the inspired name after completing a weird VV coaster named Mad Griffin. My first set coaster was Ferris Coaster Wheel. From a store shelf. I'm trying to figure out when that was.
Edit: I think I've found the release date for Ferris Coaster Wheel. It doesn't go back any further than the 18th of August, 2007. Here I was trying to cross-reference different old micro sets and motor colors and micro pieces and blegh yeah not sure why I had trouble with time traveling before.

Holy f that was awesome! Are you able to change the sample rate in GB? I'm pretty sure it's at the default 44100 Hz for every DAW. Nyquist for this sample rate is around 20,000 Hz, which is about where the highest frequency humans can hear. The highest sample rate I've seen in DAWs is 196000 Hz, meaning Nyquist is around 98,000 Hz. Obviously you're not going to be able to hear anything near 98,000 Hz, but there is a reason for why it exists. Sample rate refers to the amount of samples per second. 196000 kHz means that 196,0000 samples are being played every second. This means that the waveform will be more accurate.
| | < Let's say that this is the smallest pixel ever made.
|||||||||||||||||| < This is the stuff that makes up what we see (cells, molecules, etc.)
Between each | (here | there's room for one color. For the pixel, you can only have one color while the other thing can have uh... a crapload more colors within the same space. Oh and btw higher sample rates are used in things like movies. So it's the real good quality sh!t right there.
Just a little update on the video series: I'm working on 5 videos simultaneously. There's a video for going over what rods go with what (like red and yellow, blue and yellow, etc.), the types of coasters (and manufacturers), supporting and shaping (there will definitely be more videos for those things specifically), inversions and elements containing inversions, and I'm debating on whether or not I should do a safety video.
One does not simply fvck around with a fully loaded 6 car train...
Bonus points if anyone got that reference.

Thanks man. It probably is what you’ve said but I’m not a huge expert on this sort of stuff. I do have an Audacity file for it this time though so I might be able to play about with stuff a bit more. I just kinda went with what sounded decent. It was never going to be totally perfect with its somewhat crude production but it’s probably just about as good as I’ll get it aside from some minor tweaks.Holy f that was awesome! Had some fun doing more musical stuff. This heavier sound is probably more representative of the stuff I normally write. Just a backing track though since my singing is not quite suitable for it.
Hope you enjoy it.
So for feedback, I'd say it has pacing issues - I really enjoyed it actually, but there are times when it mellows out / breaks down, and I feel like it's just broken down like 20s before.. The bit that made me think that the most was about 1:30 in.
I guess it's difficult because you've also only got access to a certain number of loops/samples in Garage band right?

Also, there were no samples used that I didn’t play. That is me playing all the guitar and bass parts, and the drums are all programmed in note by note. I’ve just had to figure out ways to improve the guitar sounds it gives you as standard by layering them a bit.

Nice job on the playing! Also, yes, how things will sound in context is important. Good luck with the vocals. Maybe it's just a weakness of mine but vocals are hard to work with, especially because of the 's', 't', and 'p' sounds. Of course it also depends on what you're using to record said vocals, too. For some things a noise gate is definitely needed.
BTW that track has left me a little inspired. I'll be back.
Edit: By the way, I finally got around to watching Infinity War the other week (and Black Panther). I was kinda busy with the new video series and college and scary movies. There is just one thing I'd like to point out: Thanos made it much more difficult than it needed to be. So one of the infinity stones was the reality stone, right? Meaning it can warp reality. So, he could've just changed the current reality of not having the rest of the stones to having the rest of the stones by warping reality. That's what I would've done. If the stone isn't able to do that, then is it really a reality stone? Also, there are six infinity stones, six elements of harmony, but seven chaos emeralds.

Well, I've made a track inspired by the one CW5X posted up above. It mainly focuses on guitars but there's a few extra things in there, too. I am so skilled at what I do that I can play both the drums and several guitars simultaneously with 100% accuracy without even practicing. What, you can't do that? Pfft. N00b.
In all seriousness, yes, that really did inspire me to make this. I haven't been making much tracks lately and I needed some inspiration, so thanks m8.

In one week, Rhys a.k.a. Britfag, Joe a.k.a. Micronex and me will go on a week's journey to ride some awesome coasters in the neighbourhood. Some highlights: Fenix, Taron, Expedition GeForce, Monster and Baron 1898. I can't wait!

Wow man. Your production is much much better than anything I can manage . Sounds very professional with those effects all kicking in and the bass in the background. I’m much more about the underlying riffs and structure of songs over all that stuff but to take mine to the next level, it really would need that extra dimension.Well, I've made a track inspired by the one CW5X posted up above. I just launched a new website that helps you figure out when the best times to ride are at select parks in the US and Canada! http://www.thrill-data.com

Oh, wow, this will come in handy if I ever get to go to a park again. The wait times at Disney World don't seem to be as crazy as they are during December, where I've seen the wait times range in from 2 to even 3 hours. The last time we went was in Spring, and it was a lot better in terms of waiting.

So no sea world parks are listed on the site and how do you get all of this data each hour for the wait times?

I think it's an average statistic based on the previous years. Each year is taken into account and then an average is created from that. It isn't going to be 100% accurate unless DeVoe made it, but it'll be generally reliable.
I'm also curious about how the data is collected. Does it depend on the time from walking into the queue line until the station gates (for example) open? Then there's the whole timing with the people getting on and off the ride. Maybe some trouble with figuring out the restraints, fearful riders taking a moment to collect themselves before departing, differences in staff members checking the restraints, that sort of thing. Maybe I'm overthinking this. Also, have fun to the members getting together to go on some coasters. Makes me happy knowing one of my fanfictions has finally come true.
Edit: New page! 10 more points to Ravenclaw.
Something extremely weird and kind of scary just happened: there was a lightning strike and it was only about 20 feet away from me. That was the scary part. The weird part is what I saw. When I detected the light from the lightning, I turned around to see the white lightning bolt hitting the concrete and then staying there for a little more than a second before going back up to the sky. It wasn't just a flash. It was an actual movement, not to mention that more time was spent just turning around. This shouldn't be possible, but it did just happen. WTF.
