a real coaster. The coaster looks good for your first but I don't know where you
came up with the name of the coaster; it doesn't seem to fit the whole vertical
drop and lift part. I would try to smooth out
the transitions and such because the track is a little crooked and rough in spots.

Umm...that turn after the
drop would kill you if it was a real coaster. The coaster looks good for your

came up with the name? The great Led Zepplin! The coaster looks rough but it
might be your camera.

does the chain lift work; its out in the middle of the air. From the look of your supports,
you favor the grey tie connector on the track flex rods. Try experimenting with other
support methods, like in the original SS, to help with a smoother feel and look. Nice
efforts on your first attempt.

could be smoothed out a bit. Also I would suggest different elements. There are
certain elements that use up energy (more energy than they are worth, IMO) and
those would include upward curves, over banked curves, and barrel/heartline rolls. I
commend you on your effort and I look forward to seeing future models from you.

off topic, you built a crazy coaster (race thru the clouds) i love it alot, eventually i want
to build one like that.
Anyway back on topic, i need some close up pics of
peoples 90º lift hills, because i cant seem to get mine to work anymore
. What happends is that the
car rams into the chain then bounces back
Any suggestions peoples?
thanks

like the one you have, you have to give the chain a lot of slack. However, in doing so,
the motor might not work very well with it. I always use hand cranks because they
are stronger and faster. You need to add more chain links in to loosen it up so it
isn't so tight.

into the overbanked turn, but I still don't understand the curve/hop-up hill just
after the drop. It looks a little unrealistic. If you made the bottom of the drop a bit
higher, you could then have a banked curve at the same height of the heartline, and
more speed I suppose. The updated pic of the lift helped me understand how it
worked, but try adding a link to the chain (though I bet you've tried it and the
motor skips; it happened to me). But nice work overall and can't wait to check
out your next ride.

problem: On your lift, you have a section of track that goes beyond vertical. While
this does look neat and would probably be really unnerving to ride in real life, I would
avoid making such a design on a Screamin Serpent model. If you made you lift track
either all vertical or, better yet, slightly less than vertcal, then your chain would rest
against the track and wouldn't stop your cars from rolling far enough to catch it.
The other problem might be that because the lift is vertical, gravity is pulling the chain
dog down where it won't catch onto the lift. But, I know people have gotten
vertical lifts to work before, so I know it's possible. A good example was
Vertical Velocity (I think that was built be somebody with "sixflags" in
their name, but I don't remember exactly who.)
To the builder of
Vertical Velocity: Is it posted in the gallery?
Thank you also for your
compliment, Rollercoasterc.
