I have started my next coaster, a steel Intamin.

So far, the lift and part of the drop have been constructed. Here are the features of the ride.

-Features a twist & dive first drop
-A unique twister element found on Storm Runner
For all of you who don’t know what it is, here is a picture.

-A dive under the station
-Magnetic Brake

Here is the layout.

I do not have my camera, so no pictures will be taken for a bit.

I won't have my hopes up for a magnetic brake

It all depends on the amount of speed I have left. There won't be a magnetic brake if it isn't necessary.

Im going to build a prototype magnetic braking system once I get the supplies.

^why though? all you have to do, if the magnets are even strong and small enough, just tape em to the bottom of the coaster car and ad other ones to the midle track(my thought)

^That is what I had in mind.

But it might interfere with the operation of the chain. I might do a magnetic brake from the side of the car rather than from underneath.

put on of those "sizzle" magnets hole under your car. Then take lots of little metal bars and put them in between the crossties. So when the car passes over it it will be wanting to pull backwards derasticly decresing speed.

Like that would work... In your configuration the magnetic force will be vertical, while the movement is horizontal. So magnetic force only increases the friction for a small amount, but does not decelerate the train in any other way.

Well wouldn't the train won't to head towards the magnet so after it passes by it slows it down?

^Read. The magnets aren't affecting the horizontal movement in anyway except friction...

How would they be able to affect horazontial movement then?

Cool, but it kind of looks uneven. And a bit sharp at the top. And a little undersupported.

I am trying my best to fix the sharpness at the top. The supports are fine though, I designed the structure so that the track wraps around the whole lift structure so it may look a little undersupported, but it does not shake at all.

Just FYI it's called a Flying-snake-dive. the transition isn't very smooth there is a big bump about 2/3 of the way down the drop.

There is no bump. I looked it over and it may look like there is one in this picture, but in reality there is no bump.

You only have the track connected to the structure in 2 spots for like 8 flexi-lengths. You need to attach it to the structure more. Also, you don't need to load it with X-ties, 5-6 per flexi is enough.

^^ It's a real element, http://rcdb.com/ig2498.htm?picture=8

Fix the sharpness, support it more, and it should look great.
