Saturday morning we woke up at around 7:00 and were at the gate at 8:15. At 8:45, we were let past the gate. 9:00 came and everybody took off. I was one of the first people for most of the way, but I waited for my friend who was slower. We got the 5th ride of the season on Maverick. After a quick ride on Skyhawk, in which the operator left about two inches of room for us, we headed for Millennium Force. This ride just never gets old with it's constant speeds. Next, my friend and I rode Mantis, followed by a re-ride with a guy from CoasterForce. He was pretty sweet. Magnum was next. Ejector row, it was painful.
After a cheese on a stick and a Mountain Dew, we sucked it up and waited for Gemini. The park was starting to get crowded and they were only running the red side, which sucked. Gemini was great as usual. Underrated. Next up, we got another ride on Maverick. For some reason, Maverick was rolling back after the tunnel a lot more than usual at this time. We found out a few minutes after we got off, the ride closed for the rest of the night. We never rode it again.
Now we were just walking around and found our way to Space Spiral. We got a few quick pics and went to Famous Dave's. Great ribs, great view, great way to refresh. Back into the park for a hell of a night. Wicked Twister was first up. The ride wasn't worth the wait(30 minutes), but it was good to ride something. Next, we hit up Corkscrew, Magnum, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, and Gemini. After a quick pit stop, we rode Iron Dragon and I took a spin on Power Tower. It was starting to get dark, so we got in line for Top Thrill Dragster. After 45 minutes, we were a blur in the night, racing past streaks of light and into the black. My friend never used to like the ride, but after a night ride, I changed his mind.
Our last ride of the night was Millennium Force. 45 minutes later, we fell into the abyss. There are no lights for the first 10 seconds of the ride after the lift. If you go to Cedar Point, you have to get a night ride on either Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, or Millennium Force.
Sunday consisted of one ride on Millennium Force, two rides on Mangum, and one last ride on Wicked Twister. It was rainy and cold, and we left at 11:00 AM.
Some random notes:
Many rides were breaking down, and maXair wasn't even open. Skyscraper is still sitting in the parking lot waiting to get built. They need to get their act together. On the other hand, Planet Snoopy looks nice.
