My grandpa and I got to the park at about 10:15 and I went instantly to Millennium Force. I rode that and Skyhawk in about a half hour. The day looked perfect, and I was getting optimistic, that is, until I got to Maverick.

Five minutes after I got in line for Maverick, they announced that it was down and for 45 minutes they ran tests. Most of the people left, so I stayed. After these 45 minutes, they transferred off the silver train and opened her back up. I got in the singles line. They dispatched a pair and I was next, second row, left side of the gold train. We were all secured in when they decided to transfer the silver train back on. The operator said it was fixed already(I didn't see any maintenance). They get the silver train in the launch position for the lift, and the ride doesn't start up. They let us out behind the airgates and we wait. Ten Minutes I was riding Mean Streak.

Maverick crew is terrible this year. They don't know how to run the ride. How can it take 45 minutes to diagnose a small problem, one only taking 5 minutes to fix, on only one of the trains? They need to get their act together and start running the ride like they did last year.

After lunch I waited for Gemini. Why, for their 30th anniversary did they decide to run only one side? Yes, it was a weekday in May, but there was a line, and everyday before then I've been to the park(besides early mornings, before 11:00AM) they have ALWAYS ran both sides. It doesn't make sense. After I got off, I went to Magnum. I got two consecutive rides in the ejector row, and it did the trick. The nirvana that is Magnum took away the pain.

Next was TTD. It's so worth waiting when you only have to wait 15 minutes each time. After a spin on Corkscrew, I took another ride on TTD. Since I didn't get to ride the freefall side of Power Tower on opening day, I sucked it up and rode it today. After, I took a relaxing ride on Iron Dragon.

Mantis was a walk on. Everyone hates this ride, but I find it somewhat enjoyable. I headed to Millennium Force for another quick ride before heading up front. Wicked Twister had a 10 minute wait and then I got to ride my baby again. I got two rides on maXair in 15 minutes. maXair is a lot quieter this year with it's new pieces. It's probably the best thing CP has done this year.

Back to the disappointments. Blue Streak has new rectactables(as well as Mean Streak and Corkscrew). Cedar Point has dealt the final blow to Blue Streak's glory. It's not a ride I care for anymore. The seat belts suck. They don't hold you firmly to the seat(you can't tighten them like the old ones) and you can feel the ride's age. It's a shame, a total shame. Dinner was at Game Day Grille. Philly Cheese Steak, need I say more? Raptor was a walk on and great to ride, seeing as I missed it on opening weekend. After one last ride on TTD, I went home, mildly disappointed.

Notes:

maXair is quieter, and open!
Blue Streak sucks
CP broke Maverick
TTD hauls
And now for a real note. I noticed a lot of red and yellow utility flags and some red paint in a clump of trees between the Petting Farm and the railroad tracks on Frontier Trail. I'll keep you guys posted if I see anymore on future trips.

Ride count:

Millennium Force: 2
Skyhawk: 1
Mean Streak: 1
Gemini: 1
Magnum: 2
Top Thrill Dragster: 3
Corkscrew: 1
Power Tower: 1
Iron Dragon: 1
Mantis: 1
Wicked Twister: 1
maXair: 2
Blue Streak:1
Raptor: 1

Overall, it wasn't a bad day at all. In fact, it was very good. There were light clouds, high sixties, and sunny all day. It could've been so much better though.

That's disappointing to hear about Blue Streak. I loved that ride.

^^I left at 7:15. It doesn't get dark until almost 10:00 now.

^Retractables are like car seatbelts. They automatically roll back up when you unbuckle them.

No, I didn't bring the camera. I didn't feel like it was needed. I'll take it once this summer, and then for Halloweekends.

Like I said, it wasn't a bad day at all, but it could've been a lot better.

!5 minutes TTD? I guess it helps when the ride scares everyone off lol. How high is the power tower there? I thought it'd be closed after the accident.

Is 5 minutes the usual wait for TTD? Last time I was there it had a 4 hour wait, but that was 3 or 4 years ago.

Sounds like it was a good day, you got more rides than I usually do at SFOT.

TTD's wait has gone down significantly. I don't think it's because everybody's scared of it, but because everybody's ridden it and they realize there's better things to ride. A normal wait these days is 30-45 minutes.

Power Tower is 240 feet high, but the arches on top are an extra 60 feet. It wasn't closed because it was a different manufacturer. PT was built by S&S, not Intamin. Actually, I think it was closed for a few days though.
