Introducing...

Posted Image

SSC's first zero-g roll tutorial!

This is an EXAMPLE of a ZERO-G ROLL for NEWER MEMBERS.
You guys shouldn't be getting all fussy over every little detail.

The Base

Posted Image

The base should be 11 granites long.

The left side should look like this:

Posted Image

And the right side should look like this:

Posted Image

Don't forget the random green rod on the right side! (You'll be connecting that later.) Actually, the random green rod should be on the other side of the base, but the same distance away from the right side. Sorry for the confusion.

Posted Image

The Pullin & The Pullout

You will need to make TWO of the following steps until further notice.

First, make this:

Posted Image

Add these six pieces to what you just made:

Posted Image

And add the crosstie/green connector with a black hand clip on the end to it:

Posted Image

Now, after you've made two...

Here is one connected to the left side:

Posted Image

And here is the other connected to the right side:

Posted Image

They both attach to the grey 3-Ds that have the second crosstie connection between them.

It will end up like this:

Posted Image

The Next Crossties

You will be making two of these.

First, make this:

Posted Image

Then add the diagonal support to the 3-D that holds the crosstie:

Posted Image

Next, make this section:

Posted Image

Attach both sections like shown:

Posted Image

Last section! Make this:

Posted Image

Flip it over to look like this:

Posted Image

And attach the third section to the first two like so:

Posted Image

The long diagonal support from the first section attaches to the 3-D connector held up by four blue rods.

After you've made two...

Connect them to the base, right next to the existing supports:

Posted Image

Connecting The Sides

You'll only need to repeat the first step in this section.

Make TWO OF THESE flat structures first:

Posted Image

Add the two granites and a green rod to that structure:

Posted Image

Flip the second flat structure over and attach to what you just made:

Posted Image

This is the same structure, put upright and turned 90 degrees:

Posted Image

When that support is in the above position, place in the last empty section of the base:

Posted Image

The Top Support

Only make two of the first step.

Make TWO of these flat structures:

Posted Image

Then make this (the crosstie support):

Posted Image

Now, connect the crosstie support to the structures like this:

Posted Image

Connect it to the middle support like so:

Posted Image

Now you have an untracked Zero-G roll!

Posted Image

The Track

Place the flexis (and third crosstie) on each side of the 0-G:

Posted Image

This makes the pullin/pullout.

Now is the time to connect the crossties with middle tubing:

Posted Image

Then add more crossties in.

Posted Image

Finally, track & shape!

After a bit of shaping, it can look like this!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Thanks for reading!

It's small, but that's to reinforce the suggestion of beginners building smaller.

perfect i think. the only thing i would do is put max x- ties. it still looks perfect but i think it definatley would look better.

It would look better with flexis maybe.

I tried flexis but it takes a ton of shaping to make it look remotely right.

Max ties would look better, but considering who the tutorial's for, they might not have all the crossties to max it.

And I didn't feel like dragging twice as many crossties upstairs.

Also, I added a picture to a step that really needed one.

If i wanted to make this typr of 0-G roll at great speed could I just double its length and make it look good?
(Im thinking of putting it after a 4-ft drop and turnaround)

The only thing that I would change is the twist. It needs to be more flat at the top, rather than the whole thing being one continuous curve.

^What? If you meen that the top of the zero-g should be flat, then no, he has it right. It should be pointed-

Great tutorial by the way, TH.

^ I didn't mean completley flat, like an invert. What I ment was for it to do a quicker twist at the top, instead of the twist starting near the bottom of the roll.

Not like either of you two will be using it.

Honestly, it's just an example of a 0-G roll, no specifics. And it looks Intamin.

If you guys don't like it then shut the hell up and make your own, TH made a high-quality zero-g roll which is a helluva lot better than either of you could do (except maybe PS56).

^ Welcome to the forums!
Seeing as you just became a member today, it's okay, but:
-there hasn't been a post in this thread for almost a month and a half. Most members here don't like it when people "wake up" "dead" threads. I dont really care, but not posting in dead threads can make you more popular.
