enough pieces to make my recreation. construction has begun today starting with the
destruction of Mustang. i am going back and forth between making the lift 45 degrees
like a usual knex coaster or more like the real thing. any suggestions? making the
more realistic will give me more room for the bunny hops but will take more pieces,
although i should have plenty of pieces. pics will come in as the construction
continues.

as possible, but it's your choice.

when you make the hill if you go ahead a long gray piece and up a long gray piece it
goes 45 degrees (a slope of 1/1)? well i originaly tried to make it go ahead a long gray
piece and up a medium gray piece (a slope of 1/2) and it was too flat to be the real
thing. so i decided it looked closer at 45 than the other way.
update on

1 grey rod is a nice slope and easy supports. Do whatever you think is best. I
don't think the rest of the ride will take up very many peices.

been done to it over time as well but for now i have a pic of it. it shows the first hill
and a clutter of knex which is what remains of mustang. i hope to at least have the
second hill done by tonight.

Maybe you will be able to pull it off. Other than that, looks great!

or so i hope. the second hill is actuall pretty high (i have the top of the 2nd hill done so
far). i am using every possible thing to make it go faster: using different gears
powered by 3 motors to make the lift go faster, wd40 on the trains, very stiff supports,
smooth track, anything i can think of. if it doesnt make it though i can just make it into
a big looping coaster .

much as you may not believe me it does make it over the second hill with plebty of
speed. the trick is to put weight on the trains along with plenty of supports. the way i
did it was i taped coins in a certain way to the bottom. i may put a guide on my site on
how to get extra "go" on the coaster. if i can i am gonna try to get a video
with my digital camera so you can see it.

That's wrong. It's about 6 grey rods high according to your photos. My
coaster that I'm currently building is the same height. I'm
4'10.5" tall and my coaster is up to the tip of my nose.

match it to yours, Your coaster should be about 4'2.5" which isn't
close to five feet. Thanks for the good eyes compliment, I get that a lot.

it really is. every day it seems more impossible to get the train back. im not giving up,
though, cause it may still be able to get back to the station, but its looking grim. i will
probably fins out if it will get back by tonight or so.
update on coaster
progress: i have completed the 3rd hill, i now have to decide how to build the pretzel
turn. i have a pov photos from the 1st hill. there is a coffee table with a bunch of junk
