[Loop De Loop]

Well i am geting a scorpion. I will be reciving it on my birthday from my grandma. She spoils me! But is it hard is it fun? And how dose the tracking work? Also I am geting the small extension pack. Anything good in that? I am so exited!!!

When is your birthday ? Welcome to the CD family, you will really enjoy your kit. You will have the same thing as me and you will way enough to start. Almost everything about the model is good only the lift and the rails are a pain to get on but it is much easier then k'nex.

I'd say get some new lift pieces once they come out. It'll make your coasters a helluvalot easier to get to work. (The current lift system is pretty bad since the crest has to be very small to work.)

Of course. I'll build with my scorpion more since it won't need as much speed to engage the lift. Although, I need to buy a new car for replacement wheels.

Congrats! I think you will find that it is easier and faster to build with than knex. And it looks alot better.

^I mean, it's not easy, but overall I find it easier to build a coaster with CD. Supporting is fast, effective and easy, you almost don't have to worry about the speed and it doesn't take too long to build.

I think CD is a lot harder than K'nex. *fingers start bleeding*

The rails especially, since it's too short to make good scorpion-sized models. You need a four foot lift to actually do anything.

It is hard physically on the hands, yes. Dude, is it that hard to understand me ? The lift is a pain to make work, track is hard to put on but what else there is ? With K'nex you have to make mega structure for a simple lift, you have to put a chain going trough all the supports you have to support rock-solid (wich takes pieces) to make decent layout and the train isn't as efficient as CD trains.

What i'm saying is that I prefer to build with CD then K'nex because there is less negative points. But you guys have your opinions I have mine.

Coasterdynamix are too expensive for me :D

The coasterdynamix system is better than the K-nex system, and I will tell you why. The trains have metal wheels, not plastic. the track holds it's shape once you put the rails on, and you don't have to build a mega structure for ANY of the coaster.

You guys stop crying about your fingers bleeding, I've been working with CoasterDynamix stuff from nearly the begining. If you are goign to cry about getting hurt from the model, then this isn't the hobby for you.

My SheiKra model is about 2 Scorpions worth of materials and custom made supports. My Montu model is made out of a Dragon and a Scorpions worth of kits, plus extras.

I have a few thousand $$ in the models I am working on at the moment, and i think it is worth every penny.

The new LIFT parts will not work with as a lift hill for the inverted models, only the above track models. You however can use the premolded parts throughout the layout, you can use them to make the B&M dip, use them to make a parfect loop crest.

Put it that way.

When the SS came out it was 100$. To make decent customs you need a minimum of 4 sets which is 400$, the price of 2 scorpions. With the two scorpions you have two full trains that runs smoothly and more track than you need.

Of course, K'nex is now cheeper but considering how more popular CD is becoming it will change .
