Screamin Demon

i just got the rippin rocket. This means i now have 2 roller coaster sets. My first
project is the screamin demon. THe lift will be 6 ft (4ft right now
because i havent finished the lift yet). anyways ive never built a coaster this big before
so i have a few questions.
1. since the lift hill is 6 ft i am using the electric
k'nex motor. will there be a problem with the amout of power needed to pull the
train up?
2.Inversions i need a few and i cant decide. One inversion i know im
using is a cobra roll but after the first half the cork will go the other way so you leave
the same direction u enter.(im not sure wut this is called)
wish me luck and
please give me hints for a beter design.

than corkish. Then it would be an inverted top hat.

No, he is talking about a Sea Serpent.Originally posted by nitro9003@Dec 27 2003, 09:01

It's a cutback unless
it's more vertical than corkish. Then it would be an inverted top hat.
It is like a cobra roll with 2 inversions but the second corkscrew goes in the same
direction as the first so the train ends up travling in the same direction as when it
entered.

To answer the
question about the lift, the motor might be able to get the train up, it depends on how
steep the lift is mostly and how heavy the train is. My coasters usually can't use
the motor because I have custom cars that are heavy and my lifts are steeped then 45
degrees. The K'NEX motor probably can haul the SS train up 6 feet no
problem, even with a vertical incline. With only 2 sets and a 6 foot lift, be careful with
pieces and track, you can run out quickly if your not careful. Some inversions you
could use are barrel rolls, corkscrews, vertical loops, inclined loops, cutbacks, dive
loops, immelmans, etc. Go to rcdb.com and go to their Element Cross Reference to
look at costers with different inversions.

diving turn. The turn goes down only half way to the ground. then a barrel roll right
uder the lift then..... well so far thats it. LOL P.S. if your wondering i dont have a
digital camera yet so i will just take normal photos at the end then scan them with my
scanner.

well the
knex gray motor pack is as strong as 3 ss set motors i usally use 2 or 3 motors on my
models because it is faster and dosent were out the same good luck have lots of
fun.
actually haveing more than
1 motor doesnt make the lift faster, just less prone to stopping or slowing. if you used
different sized gears you could make it faster, but it will keep wear and tear down.
anyway i hope to see some pics of your coaster soon, sound pretty good

rippen rocket tubing because the ss set tubing is already cut. I finished enough track to
come to the end of the rr tubing. THe end of the track right now is near the
station....... but im very ambitious and everythings going acording to plan so guess
what...... its going to be longer. I am streching 2 sets for all there worth. lol You may
think its silly to make it bigger but to not cut the tubing i have a special way of doing
the last part of the ride. Anyway since you want a pic ill try to take one P.S.
somethings wrong with my digital camera cause everythings yellow but you will still be
able to see it.
