The construction of this coaster will be updated like a real-life coaster construction blog.

SFGAmGuitar Parks are pleased to announce that they are getting an exact replica of the famous Whizzer at SFGAm. Starting today, construction will most likely span about half a year or so, depending on the situation of materials ;).

Concrete footers have been placed for the spiral lift, and any suggestions on how we could improve it would be greatly appreciated!

So, without further ado, I present you:

WHIZZER

Thank you! You are one of the very few who actually appreciates my construction.

Oh, and can someone like KCM please give some tips on how to make the spinning thing on the inside/how to connect the track to the 4 towers?

Don't want to sound hypercritical, but what pride will you take in something that was possible only because of someone else? Get down to the nitty-gritty, do some experimenting, fail, then try again. That's how everybody learns. Holding your hand teaches you nothing.

That being said, there's not really THAT much to comment on based on the footers. Looks good i guess. Just take the plunge and do some work on the lift and see what you come up with.

Looks alright. If you make this it might be a decent coaster for once.

I 100% agree with CC10. Trial and Error, just keep building and see what you eventually come up with, even if it takes a while. That's the best way to do it, is find your own unique way and build off of that.

Good luck with this!

Wow, thank you everyone! I really appreciate the nice comments! I hope that this will be successful, and even if it doesn't get completed, it will be my biggest coaster and I'm sure you guys will help me a lot with it.

Just confirming that Solidify is NOT CANCELED. It is put on temporary hold, which will probably not be for long because I will need more pieces for Whizzer so that won't happen until Solidify is done and I have a final video. I have some nice ideas for a final video, but first I have to make a station (rawr) and clean up.

Did I pretty much just update Solidify in my Whizzer thread? :)

Sorry for the DP, but I forgot to say this in the very beginning: For every update, a construction timelapse will be posted.

Sorry I didn't show the main footage of building the base, I only thought of the idea after I had already built it. Also, here you can see my problem-solving with how to attach the motor/spinner before realizing that I should put the motor on top :)

I sure hope you're up to scratch with this thing...it'll look awesome if you finish it, but lousy if you don't.

^I'm thinking about changing the base rod, because chances are that I'll run out of red rods (as many have seen in the past :)). I think I would change it to a green rod because blues are too small and greens are just the right size and I have more than enough greens and grays.

EDIT: Notice anything different about the base rod? ;)

UPDATE:

Sorry for no time lapse, our cameras were covered in snow ;)

Well, construction on the towers and supports have been implemented, and partial track has been laid down. We may consider making the second support shorter, considering the fact that it's too close in height to the tallest support currently.

Also, we will be moving this project to a larger property, permitted by Parents Inc.

Looks bumpy and its too steep. Try to make it more gradual and if you can shrink the thing so its not so wide. Do that and it will be good.

I wish you would use the code to post your pics.

Now to the coaster make supports protruding off of the towers. just make a blue rod length box support stick off on every support tower to support the lift.

Ither than that lookin nice.

^agreed.

i dont really dig the tube supports IMO. More boxes around the edges of the base? Otherwise, it looks great.

Too steep. The car will have trouble going up.
