^ Yes Old_Hag, they are killing the companies as the 2011 season comes in about 26 days now (posted on Dec 5, 2010) As Gump said in the Employee Roster, quote" Dear SSC members,

Companies will be removed soon. This means that I will not add new members to companies anymore. This is also a heads up to people who are currently running a company. We advice you to set up a Social Group for further activities. We don't forbid people to come together and form a group called a company, but we will not support further segregation of the community. In short, no more subforums and thread prefixes.

With soon I mean sometime in the first month(s) of 2011."

Sadly, this is coming to the end, but i have had fun here in SteelwayInventions. When i joined this site, i remember saying to myself that i have to get in Steelway in the time i am on this site, and look what i have accomplished. I got in Steelway, made a couple coaster under your name, and have made a ton of friends. I hope you have had the same enjoyable experience too members of SteelwayInventions,

Not sure if I am allowed to say this yet, but the Innovative companies will be merged into a special group.

You can apply for this group and the lead innovators from SSC decided if they can join or not. However when you are in this group your are asked to take active participation in getting ideas to reality. Just wandering around the group stealing ideas or not contributing is going to get you removed. This group will be closely watched by the staff to see how it will work out.

Well, how again do you join? And how exactly do you think by meaning to bringing thing into reality? I have a Mindstorms NXT now, so i think i can manage to become a better builder with innovations. So how again do you join? And will all of the innovation companies like Aminspec and SteelwayInventions merge together and have a new name? and Dutch Details is still going to be in existence, right?

People can join this group of innovators through an invite by the current group (+staff). The initial members are chosen by the staff. That means that part of Aminspec and SteelWay will probably be invited into the group. And yes, Dutch Details is still going to be in existence, as we also operate beyond SSC (display models at expositions),

We are currently going over the possibility of having paid sub-forums. If you had to pay 5 dollars a year for your own sub-forum you and a group of people could use, would you do it?

Heck Yes! 5 bucks for a ear! That's a great idea! Only thing with payment, I would rather run it through BGTKing like I have before with the 'Donator' tag. I think information is then more secure with him, but yes. 5 dollars a year, one of the best deals ever...

All donations and extra things you pay for on SSC go directly into the SSC fund. So you actually help BGT pay for the site.

I probably wouldn't. Why pay for a sub-forum when I can talk to the same people through chat, PM, VM, etc.?

You should know that you can decided who is let in or not.

Besides we really don't want people to start creating their own websites, it would split up SSC. So we think it might be a good alternative for that and keep the site pretty much paying for itself.

So only the owner of the subforum has to pay for it? And he becomes a sort of "mod" over that subforum?

He would be considered the one who allows people in or not. The rest is pretty much the same as the sub-forums right now. Having to set up a special admin rights for each sub-forum is very time-consuming. We might consider this though. Would also explain why we would charge people for it.

SSC is ran by volunteers and as a mod they expect me to look at the site a few times a day and keep track of everything. We learned from the past too, 2011 is going to be a year of changes, all based on things from the past. We want to know your opinion before we add something new to the forum.

The last few months have been crazy for the staff, dealing with contests, awards, changes. We have been discussing matters daily and we are starting to feel the pressure now, some things are to be launched within the first week of 2011!

To make SSC better we want something in return to keep the site running.
