I know this is a Dead Thread but before you go nuts on me, I have bought 2 Looping Lighting sets and Each have old wire and the plastic ends.

As long as the batteries provide the same voltage (I believe), it should work fine.

Yeah, the thing is: Alkaline's have a higher nominal voltage then NIMH's, but that voltage quickly goes down the drain under load. NIMH's have a more consistent voltage, but their nominal voltage is only 1.2V per cell.

^ Try it to see if it works. I know this is the Lava Launch thread but i have to bring this up.Did you guys see the RR2? It has everything i would want from a knex coaster. Booster, Standard pieces, Curved track, and it doesn't cost very much. The only downside is that it doesn't have very much pieces. And it only has one car. Finally i can get a booster for a decent price.
I didn't choose the band life, the band life chose me.
