I am asking this question because my room is themed

on roller coasters ( of course) and i am going to have a shelf that goes half way

around my room... The shelf will be about half a foot wide and will go beside my

bed...then turn...then go straight again....then have a turnaround spott for my

coaster...the reason why I am gettin this shelf is so I can make a permanent knex

roller coaster! But why I am asking this is because I dont know if I should make

a wooden one...with lots of bunny hills...or a steel one...that has about 2 inversions? If

I happen to make a wooden one I will 1st build it....then i will take section by

section....track and all...except for the tubing of course..and spray paint all the

supports and the track brown...but if I decide to do a steel coaster then I will not spray

paint anything and it will be kind of boring.....so I am guessing most people will vote

for a wooden one....but if they dont then it just wont be as good...but it is my decision

anyway...I just want to know what people think....

here is a bad sketch of how the shelf will be. i had to

..so here is a simple sketch....the shelf will not be too wide so when it does the

turnaround at the end...it will go back through its structure to the station.... its pretty

much just a straight shelf except for 2 turns

yes of course it will be a complete course....thats why

I said after the turnaround it is going to go through its structure and too the station...do

you guys think it would look cool if I painted everything brown except for the tubing so

it wont get sticky?

ya i prolly will get that kind of paint....thats what i

always get.....but what do you guys suggest i put into this coaster....i am going to have

a lift...then drop about 2 inches...then have a turn and have a series of bunny

hills! also on the turnaround i think i am going to have a double helix! not

sure yet...then i will make the coaster dive back under its structure and give lots of

head choppers!

Do you mean 2 feet i

would have it go as high 2 the roof then droop do some hills then sece a shelf cant be

in front of your dor have a hill tht goes over the dor then have a final bunny hill then go

back to the station oh yeah you could make a station out of wood 2.

no...i mean 2 inches....cuz it does not need to drop

very far just to do a turn...then i will have bunny hills and everything....and the shelf

only goes halfway around my room cuz i dont want to have a shelf in the middle of my

door! cuz i made a turnaround so it would go back to the station...cuz i dont want

to have to mess w/ the door...here is a sketch of my room w/ the shelf.....it should let

you get a betta pic of how this is

well here is a sketch drawing of 1/2 of the

coaster....this part will be behind my futon....it will then have a double helix to the left

of the futon....and then it will dive under its structure and make its way back to the

station.....i will have another sketch of is going to be on the left of my bed...which is

mainly just the lift and a few bunny hills back to the station!!tell me what

you think about the plans so far!!! i am also going to work very

slowly on this coaster cuz it will be up for a LONG time!! i am going to

make the supports very strong....i will only be using the blue rods....therefore it will

look like a real wooden coaster w/ lots of supports!! :D well here is the

pic!!

you should have the name stand for something like,

Matt's Room Roller coaster, and you would name it The MRRC!
