For some of you this is the first forum they visit. This means that you might not know how a forum works entirely.
Unlike an e-mail or a chat-box people appreciate it if you would use proper spelling and grammar. This makes reading a lot easier and people will respect you for it. After all, you all want your first impression to be good? Don't you?
Sadly people make mistakes all the time, it's human. But we can prevent many of those little grammar and spelling mistakes! Hereby I will give you a quick lesson on the mistakes that are the most common. This will also include a few useful tools you can use to check your posts for mistakes.
Your: Your Car
You're (You are): You're funny
With: I'm with Jogumpie
They: They play with toys
They're (They are): They're running
Their: Their car
There: There they are
Common mistakes (slang etc.):
Ain't (American English) -> Isn't
Color (American English) -> Colour
Humor (American English) -> Humour
Tips:
Foreign people may have a hard time speaking English.
www.freetranslation.com <- Useful when you just don't know that word you are looking for.
Google Translate <- Idem
https://addons.mozil...x/browse/type:3 <- Spellchecker for Firefox use English (British) or English (US)
It is also very much appreciated when you use proper punctuation in your posts. This means using capital letters at the beginning of a sentence and names, commas for pauses in a sentence and dots at the end of an sentence.
Now you know how to make a proper post! Have fun on our forums!

But on the topic of British and American spelling: both are accepted here, of course. You can't force Americans to use British spelling, obviously.
