I will not let this thread die!
Its Mid-season, with most teams playing 41 games so far. Lets see where the league is at halfway through the season.

Top 5 teams in the league:
Vancouver 28 9 6 62 points
Philadelphia 27 11 5 59 points
Detroit 27 11 5 59 points
Pittsburgh 27 14 4 58 points
Tampa Bay 26 13 5 57 points

Top 5 Scorers:
Sidney Crosby 32G 34A 66P
Steven Stamkos 31G 26A 57P
Daniel Sedin 25G 30A 55P
Henrik Sedin 9G 46A 55P
Martin St Louis 18G 35A 53P

Highlights so Far:
Sidney Crosbys 25 Game points streak.
Vancouver Canucks 17 game unbeaten streak.
Winter classic success, even though pouring rain.

Disappointments so far:

New Jersey Devils and their 120 million dollar man, in Last place with a mere 24 points.

Alexander Ovechkin sitting only 11th in scoring.

At this point, who do you see Coming on strong come playoff time? who do you see falling off the pace?

Who will win the scoring race? Will crosby, despite being out with a concussion, be able to hold on? Or will, Stamkos, or a Sedin brother challenge?

Your thoughts on the season so far.

At the start of the season, I thought that Anaheim had no chance at making the playoffs. But now they're right in the middle of it. I'm quite pleased with how my team is playing, especially Cam Fowler. He's impressed me from the start, and I would put up a pretty strong argument for him to get the Calder Trophy (Rookie of the Year).

I don't see San Jose making it this year, too much struggling for a team who's supposed to be up top. And if they do make the playoffs, it's not like they can go past the first round anyway.

I think Stamkos will win goals, but I'm gonna wait and see when Crosby comes back to make a call on points.

About Kovalchuk... Karma!

Oh, and Dustin Byfuglien for Norris Trophy!!!

I miss Big Buff.

Hawks finally have settled on a goalie, and seem to be getting things together. Crawford has back to back shutouts, and the Hawks are looking for their fourth win in a row. About freakin' time defending champs.

Te Hurricanes just blew it last night, horrible first period followed by sloppy playing threw out. They just couldn't pull it off. I think the Pittsburgh - Tampa series should be pretty interesting.

Don't really know anything about the clubs in the NHL, I know more about the NIJB (Nederlands IJshockey bond, Dutch Icehockey League). I want the Lions to win there, since it's my own club where I play :-P

I'm not much of a hockey fan but did watch the Bruins game 7 last night. I've never played hockey either and don't know a ton about the game, but my observation was that the Canadiens were much more skilled team. I think the Bruins got lucky.

Comet Recreation still underway.

Boston is a better team skill wise, but Montreal has determination. They never quit or give up. I thought they would win the series, but they just fell short.

Daniel Sedin, Corey Perry and Martian St Louise were all nominated for the Heart trophy today.

Now that the Ducks are out, I'm rooting for the Canucks. Vancouver has been way too good lately to not win a Cup.

Still glad that the Ducks made the playoffs at all this year though. I was not expecting it at the start of the year.
