This thread is where someone posts something ironic or just something in general about coasters and then we the people of SSC can discuss it and then someone else can discuss about.

General fact that i learned over the summer when building Dominator and watching the Scream! construction thread. Did you know that on all B&M Cobra Rolls, inverted or not, one inversion or side is larger than the other? Here is some evidence of that. As you can see in Bizarro, Phaethon (inverted), Scream!, and Raptor (inverted), that one side of the Cobra Roll is larger than the other. Agreed or disagreed?

Dis-agreed. If you look at bizarro and scream! They are the same. If you look at Phaethon, silver bullet, and Raptor one sides pullout is lower than the other side.

I specifically remember in Scream's! thread, pic of how one side of the cobra roll is smaller. I believe TBM made one sied of the cobra roll a little shorter in accordance to the real ride.

Kumba's cobra roll is also asymmetrical.

Here's a fun fact: The Bat at Kings Island had brake fins on the bottom of the cars, instead of on top of the chassis.

...And the turns had no banking.

^ Woops! And Stig, those are not brake fins, there fins used to steady the trains in the station. When we were at CP Iron Dragon had wheels instead of fins.

No those are brake fins. And if you look at the picture of the lift, there was not a guide for the cars.

@ KR11, every suspended coaster built after the Bat has those wheels to steady the cars. Those are in fact brake fins like Stig said.

A coaster so strange it has no name.

Posted Image

A shuttle loop coaster with only 1 car.

Facts: This shuttle loop does not use an electric motor to lift the car up the hill. It is lifted up the hill by "human" power.

So I guess they pedal?

^^I was just about to post that, but I realized photobucket stopped working... It is actually in Nepal incase anyone wanted to know.

About the cobra roll: They do that to be a fail-safe to get the train through, because of speed loss by friction in it.

In the U.S., 270 million people ride an amusement park ride every year, and 3 of them die on one, making the odds of dying on a ride 1 in 90,000,000!

Formula One (Pattaya Park Funny Land)

Formula One was a coaster that never opened to public.

It's not known who built it, but its as if someone took and intamin reverse free fall coaster and used an S&S type air launch.
