Wow, them cars look great! I love the railings as well!

I noticed you put rods into the bottom of the cars when spraying, does this stop them filling?

Hot damn!
this is the kind of woodie I dreamt of making,
I love the design, it's so compact and so intricately laid out
It's epic, and the cars are awesome too.
Has instantly become one of my top 5 K'nex Coasters... :D

thanks guys.

MichaelG, putting the rods in the cars does several things that help when painting.

1. Prevents the holes from filling with paint so you can still get people or rods in them in the future. Note, that the first thing I did was paint the cars inside and out with flat grey to cover all the orange. I did those coats without the rods so the holes would not be orange. Then I used the rods for all the other coats. I cut up grey rods into 4 pieces but you can use any rod.

2. Keeps the bottom edges of the cars from getting paint puddles and allows some of the paint to get the very bottom edge of the car so it will look better from underneath.

3. Allows you to handle the cars when painting without messing up the wet paint. As you can see in the pic above I stuck the rods into a scrap piece of styrofoam to hold the cars during painting. That lets me rotate all the cars at once during painting so I can get all sides of them evenly.

My plan worked, I slid the whole coaster off the edge of the table and slide the motor assembly I built up into it. I am so much happier with the nice quieter motors!

Got the new train running too.

I'm glad you could get the quieter motors to work. This was a great coaster, i'm really impressed that you could build it in that small of a space.

TK - Yes 20 pennies each.

I tried to run a 5 car train and it did not run as well. Not only is there some flex in the track but the whole table moves and that got worse with the heavier train. The more I ran it the better it got, suppose the lube had to work in. But in the end I thought it looked better with only 4 cars because the coaster is so small.

Nice work FTGU! You are making it very hard for me to vote right in the Winther Contest! :P
Those trains are really cool! Although the less amount of x ties, this coaster is very smooth. It must be really comfortable to build on a table. ;)

Unfortunately i have 0% access to youtube, but from the pictures it looks amazing. I love the compactness and those cars are very nice.

Good luck in the contest, you have my vote.

Great coaster!

Sorry for a lateish responce to me saying "no theming" I was just confused about what those red rods were for, and you said something about not theming, so I thought they looked very weird. Anyways, awesome coaster!

This coaster is awesome, great attention to details! Those cars do look beautiful. I just have one question: Where the heck did you find a 12v motor that turns in the opposite direction?? Maybe someone cracked it open and cross-wired it. Awesome find!! that was the one big issue with installing 2 -12v motors on my coaster, i had to have them going in opposite directions because i wanted them both turning the same white gear. Well, that along with the cars and the station really make this one unique ride!
