I find this matchup very interesting. Neither of the rides are particularly large. In fact, they are both a bit on the smaller side with good speed conservation. Both are recreations as well... This is going to be a close matchup.

I was deciding for a while, comparing each ride to one another thinking that Piraten was gonna own this, and then I watched Corkscrew's final video again...

Here is my input. Corkscrew used close to exact tube supports, and started a revolution of automation. Piraten wasn't automatic, was low to the ground, therefore easier to maintain speed, and used box supports, while the real has tube supports.

Actually, because it was lower to the ground it's harder to maintain speed. You conserve much more speed if each hill the car gradually goes over it.
Piraten got my vote, still possibly the most epic re-creation ever.

What an interesting match-up, as rsteele. But, in my opinion, these are two of the most deserving coasters on SSC. How can I choose between the two coasters that amaze me the most?

These two coasters are really nothing alike and they both are awesome and unique in their own ways but through much decision I have agreed with many people above. Piraten had a slight edge, it got my vote..
