The major contest of this year's Summer Heat is a custom train contest. Your roller coaster can be as small or as huge as you want, as long as you use a custom-designed roller coaster train. Inverted coaster, flying coaster, spinning coaster, 4D coaster, everything is possible now! We recommend you come up with your own train or car design, instead of using someone else's. That would definitely give you bonus points.

Like for all Summer Heat contests, the deadline is August 27th, 2011. An entry thread will be opened later in the summer.

^If it meets the requirements for both contests, yes. This contest is more aimed at the larger coasters, though.

I think we should push back the deadline. Usually the MOTY deadline was in September, am I right? I think it would be wayyy better to have the deadline for this contest pushed back.

I agree to push it back a few weeks, but not September. I'd say 2 weeks to August 28.

I do agree that the deadline to be pushed back just a bit, but maybe a week or two max. I wish I could compete in this, but I know right away that I'd loose and have no chance against all of you.

What defines a custom train? Does the train have to be modified using K'nex for it to be considered custom?

All you need is a paint job apparently, Although most will do a bit more.

Anything that is not custom and gives it a different look. This can either be a themed car/train (A little more than paint please) or a different type of car, suspended, flying etc.

^ I would take it that wouldn't work, because it's just paper. I'd think the mods would have more sympathy if you were recreating Cheetah Hunt, you painted the cars exactly like the real thing, and they looked really nice.

This contest isn't based on the cars, right? I was assuming the cars would have to do with around 15% of the judging, not all of it... please answer quickly.
