I've finally found some time to build again.
So I decided to build myself a swining ship this time.

The first photos.

As you can see I let some space over for the sails to be attached to.

I hope you like it.

That is awesome, really realistic :). Do you have any ideas on how to power it?

Well, I am still working on that, any suggestions would be nice.

I was thinking in the direction of a sort of mechanism that hooks on the bottom of the ship somehow that moves back and forth. maybe some system that somehow alternates the movement every swing. but that is up to experimenting i guess :P

Nice ship, one of the best (if not the best) swinging ships I've seen so far! Good luck with the mechanism!

YES! I love your builds! That ship is looking so realistic! Looks like you could ride it! Really looking forward to what you do with the mechanism.

The mechanism will be most complicated part. Realistic ship, good work!

I really like it, especially the beginning of the sail looks very nice and creative :). The axle in the top seems to be attached in the right way!

The ship now is fully supported. I am going to improve the base of the model, but i just wanted to see it swing and how the supports would hold up.

I have been working on a mechanism for the swinging.

I am going to make it more compact and use both my 12v motors for this

Anyway the first test with just 1 motor

How is the motor doing that? The motor only goes in one direction.

That works quite well, probably the best system I've seen out of k'nex. And it looks great too.

Wow! That looks great. If only it could maybe go higher, that would make it better. Though I like it so far! :)

you could also use a simple battery motor what you build on a transformator.
so you can make it turn with your own hands.

I have worked on the swinging mechanism for a while now, and I haven't been able to improve that.
so for now I will leave it at the point where it it right now and work on finishing this thing.

I have installed the motor at the top, and maybe when I get my new power adapters I will try to build in a second motor so the first one doesn't have to work so hard :P

anyway some progress pictures.
