Hello SSC. DKCF is back again.

At the moment that I saw the thread for this year's winter contest, I had to partake in it. I'll be getting my Knex out of my basement soon to begin construction on this coaster, but all I need to do first is think of a layout. I'll most likely begin building in a couple weeks, mostly because I currently have work on the weekends, and the days I work are really long. I only have a couple weekends more until it ends, as it's a seasonal job. Just in case you care about where I work, I've been working as a ride operator at Six Flags Great Adventure for the entire season.

Now with that said, I'll show you how I'm setting this up for the winter contest.

I'm thinking about having an inversion or two in this coaster, but I'm also concerned about how the layout should be, due to its compact nature.

And just for the heck of it, here's a picture of my previous coaster, taken apart in large sections and sitting in my basement.

Also, this will be an SS coaster and not a VV coaster, and considering that I haven't built an SS coaster in over 4 years, this will be a fun, yet challenging build for me, and I hope that it'll turn out great. I'll update you guys soon on when I will start building and stuff, as I need to get school and work taken care of.

Short update:

A layout for the coaster has been made. I actually made it a week ago. Here are the pics of the layout, made in RCT2.

This is only a rough layout. It may change if necessary. The coaster's name will be Tazmanian Madness.

I plan on starting construction next weekend.

Is that first set of inversions supposed to be a batwing? If so, that's interesting. Very interesting. scratches beard

Very unique layout, I like it.
At first I though the lift was a giant break run...

Kill the airtime hill and make it a loop or barrel roll.

I thought Arrow went bankrupt. Where'd you find their technology?
I say the airtime hill is fine. I'd rather see an inversion later.

Short update:

I've began construction on the coaster earlier today. All I've been working on was the lift hill. It's nothing special, but at least I've got something made.

Time for pics:

Keep in mind that the supports are temporary. Once the lift hill is complete, it will have a strong support.

Kill the airtime hill and make it a loop or barrel roll.

I've been thinking about the airtime hill, so I'll replace it with a zero-g stall.

That's all for now. I hope to get the lift and drop completed by this weekend.

I would lower the angle of the lift otherwise the layout will be thrown off.

Update:

The lift hill is complete. All that's left of the lift is more gears, the motor, and some chain. The next thing that I need to do is the drop.

As ^^ said, I would lower the angle of the lift. You need room in that square for a nice drop pull out and sea serpent roll pull in, which you won't really have unless you alter your planned drop.
Aside from that, it looks pretty nice!

EDIT: I mean to say, you'll probably have to alter your drop if you leave the lift as it is.

Update:

The drop has been made. Based on what I've done, I need to modify the layout, but I'll try to stick to what I plan on building.

It's crazy how fast the 4x4 square gets used up. I'm struggling to fit stuff into it as well.

Update:

I have built a reverse sidewinder, but I'm also concerned on what I should do next. Because of what I have so far, the layout will be different from what I originally planned. This is definitely going to be a challenge.

I'm thinking of adding some kind of inversion after the reverse sidewinder, but it's still debatable.

What do you think? Leave me some comments and suggestions!

I have no ideas what to do afterwards. I made one on my current coaster after the loop, and made and over banked turn and a hill. It turned out pretty bad, and I am building something else right now. (Which is why I haven't posted an update yet.) I don't know how much space you have left because of the rules, but I would say another inversion of what you just did, but backwards. In terms of RCT, it the final product after your first drop from the lift would be. Half corkscrew right/Half loop/Half loop/Half corkscrew right. I forget what that element is called.
