If I would wait for a set, it would be because of

the cost... They're too expensive and mainly are for hobbiests who have careers

and can afford this stuff.

lol yeah, like even with the smaller model coming out,

it wont be worth all the hype, like maybe 2 inversions or something. and its way to

expensive but hey, it beats startin from scratch

This may or may not sound stupid, but have you thought about just

buying a few expansion packs? Buy a little track and a train and get used to the

model. Just a thought. ;-)

I don't think it's a good idea. Each exp. has 3 meters

of track I believe and if you multiply it by 5 for the $500 value of the Dragon set

you will have 15 meters, which is only a bit more than 40ft. However, I dont think it

comes with a train or lift segments and right now you can't buy them

individually.

buy the new set that is coming out that has 24 feet of

track, then buy the expansion pack. So then you would have 36 feet of track which is

only 4 feet less the Dragon and you only spent about $375

well buy 2 expansion then you'll have 48 feet

and you would have 8 more feet then dragon, and it would only cost about

$473

You can always paint the track like the guy did with

his custom model of Raptor, but it would take a lot of time and precision.

SSCoasters, where are you finding this info?

I'm really excited about this new project, but cannot find anything related to it.

I do a lot of reading, and I piece things together.

Here's the "official" announcement about Scorpion.

Well, for those of you who have been impatiently waiting for news on the Scorpion, here it is. We will be officially releasing the kit this week. Check our site for details in the coming days. We will be attending the Chicago Hobby Show this week and the kits will be available for sale at the show. We will be taking pictures and a video at the show and hope to post on the site throughout the week. Kits will also be shipping out to Coastershop in Europe later in the week.
The Scorpion is a smaller coaster that is fully compatible with the Dragon. It uses all the same components, but has a few extra goodies thrown in. The trains are black and yellow instead of blue and yellow. We include a decal set that goes on the train's wheel covers and sides. Digitized ground cover is printed on cardstock and pre-cut with holes to add realism and make assembly easier. Virtual Image Productions digitally rendered the base covers and they include grass, concrete paths, and footers for the supports. The kit comes with 24' of track and takes up only 1'x4'. The layout has a curving drop and 4 inversions. It is easier to build and less expensive than the Dragon. It retails for $275.

Here's you a comparison that I did between Dragon & Scorpion

:: Dragon has 40 feet of track
:: Scorpion has 24 feet

:: Dragon is 2'x6' (2 feet wide, six feet long)
:: Scorpion is 1'x4'

:: Dragon has 3 inversions
:: Scorpion has 4

:: Dragon has an 8 car train
:: Scorpion is 7

Scorpion has a little less stuff then Dragon, but you get it at a fraction of the cost.

I’ll add more info when I get it.

I think it would be more economically better to buy 2 scorpions ryte look it

48 feet of track rather than 40
8 inversions rather than 6
and 14 cars for a train for 6 dollars cheaper than 1 dragon ryte?
