My loop is 3ft. 4in. tall and 21in. wide. I am

measuring from the tubing to the ground. If I measured from the flexi rod to the

ground, that would add a couple inches.

My Race Thru The Clouds big loop is only about 2

ft. high from the rails to the base of the loop, so I guess you got me beat.

Costa Kid, I sent you a PM about train decals. Could

you please PM me back with an answer to my question. Thanks.

Since the turnaround after the loop has been demolished and I don't have

enough peices for another inversion, I am going to use the flexis from the turnaround

to build track from the lift to the station.
Costa kid, I have the logo for you. If you

give me your email address, I can send it over to you with details of how I want it.

Thanks.

I have been very busy this week so I haven't had

time to take pics of my invert. I was thinking about the layout and after the vertical

loop I am thinking about having an immelman, then a dive loop. Those two elements

will get the train traveling back towards the station. I hope to fit a corkscrew or barrel

roll in before the speed is gone. I don't know how much speed the custom cars

have.
I need someone to make decals for the trains. Costa kid isn't

responding to my PM so anyone who knows how to make decals for the train, please

PM me or post in this topic. Thank you. Costa kid, if you are still interested, please

reply!

I just worked on the coaster a bit. As usual, my plans

must be altered because the coaster doen't have enough speed. After the

vertical loop, I built an inverted top hat that stands about 2ft. tall. After that, I want to

cram as many barrel rolls in as possible before the speed is murdered by the poor

wheel design of the cars.
Questions and comments are appreciated.

Barrel rolls look really cool when well crafted, but

I've found them to cost more energy than anything I've tried. By the time

your train exits the barrel rolls, there won't be any speed left for the "poor

wheel design" to kill. I'm pretty sure you will be able to build something

that works though.

BTW, I admire the fact that you don't want your

model to depend on WD-40. I'm also going to try to make my next model work

without needing WD-40 only because I get tired of re-lubing so often.

I used WD-40 once on a model and it worked the first

day but then the second day, the track was all sticky and the ride didn't work. I

had to get a sponge and wipe the tubing down with water.

Where did you apply the WD-40 for that to happen?

I re-lubed a train just the other day and I've run it for 2 days now and it still

works and I've never gotten very much WD-40 on the track. I did notice there

appears to be some scaring in the place where I would put the train on the track just

after applying WD-40. I only apply it to the axles.

I think I put too mych on so it got all over the wheels.

Anyways, I will usually let a model run for a day, then I wont run it for several days.

By then, I would have to relube it. It isn't worth the hastle.

The

coaster hasn't been getting through the inverted top hat so I changed it to a

cutback. Actually, it is an inclined cutback. It is like an overbanked turn but it is

banked enough that it is an inversion. I guess I can say that an 'inclined

cutback' has "never been done" before like the title of the topic

states! Also, here is a clue about what kind of coaster this is...
Intamin

manufactures this kind of coaster.

I am not going to disclose the ride type just yet.

However, CostaKid, what is an Intamin fishhook? Costakid, I sent you the logo for

this ride to your email address. How are the decals coming along?

An Intamin fish hook is a coaster that is pulled

backwards up a vertical tower. It then drops, goes through the station, up a huge half

loop, stalls for a sec and comes back down. The whole track looks like a fish hook.

The end of the half loop would be the barbed end and the top of the lift would be

where the fishing string would connect.

I understand now. Is that what the Stratosphere

wanted to build but the citizens of Vegas complained? I wouldn't call it much of

a roller coaster. It look like a midly thilling thrill ride.

Good and Bad

news:
Bad: my dad forgot to bring home his camera so I will not be able to takes

pics of my invert and then take it down so I can use the part for this coaster.
Good: Costa Kid did a great job with my decals. Thanks Costa Kid! I

modified the colors a bit but they are awesome! Costa Kid, can I just print the

decals from Paint? Or do I have to open them in a different program?

Is that Intamin Fishhook a concept or is one open to the

^^^its just a concept. It was originally going to be built on

top of the Stratosphere Hotel/Casino but the city of Las Vegas disaproved of it saying

that it was a abstraction to the enviroment. or something like that.

I demolished the turn to the lift hill so I could use the

flexis. I added half of a barrel roll after the inclined cutback. The train goes through it

fairly fast. I think I will be able to fit in two whole rolls! Once I demolish

Voltage (the invert), I will have enough pieces to finish the model and more! I

am wondering, do you think I should add a second lift and a few more inversions like a

dive loop and inclined loop or should I just complete the coaster with 4 inversions?
So, what do you think?
1 lift with vertical loop, cutback, 2 barrel rolls
or
2 lifts with vertical loop, cutback, 2 barrel rolls, dive loop, inclined loop

Westside, as long as the size of the decals dont change,

you should be able to print from Paint. As for the decals, I'm glad you like them.

And unlike Haunted Oasis's decals, they are bigger than the ones that come with

the set, but still fit.

Check out my new coaster Voltage. Click the link in

my sig.

Now that I have taken pics of Voltage, it can be dismantled and

the pieces used for this coaster! Also, I have taken some construction pics of

the coaster and will be releases soon! Finally, I will be giving you guys a new

hint as to what kind of coaster this is going to be!

Hint # 2: Someone on this site attempted to make this

type of coaster but never finished.

I finished the 2nd barrel roll and what

do you know, the train doesn't make it through! So, I am in the process of

making modifications to raise the 1st roll and lower the 2nd so the speed is conserved

more. I have decided to build a 2nd lift to add to the inversion count and add some

lateral elements. After the two barrel rolls, the train will turn 180 degrees to the left

and begin to climb a second lift parrellel to teh 1st and using the same support

sturcture as the first to save pieces.

Construction pics will come very

soon.
