PKIknex and I have started a new coaster as a sort of going away project. We decided on a gigantic hyper coaster that will reach 7.5 feet and go through almost my entire basement. We have a name for the coaster but we're not quite ready to release it at the moment. However, construction is halted until I finish RedLine, which is close to becoming a reality (finally). Here are some pictures:

Comment and enjoy. We'll try to have updates on a semi-regular basis, save for the time PKI will be on vacation and i'll be recovering from wisdom teeth surgery (the same time frame). Also note that the granite rods will be replaced with yellow rods before we continue.

Hehe, It's nice knowing what this is going to be. Right now it looks pretty much perfect as to what I can see. Can't wait to see this bad boy finished.

Hehe, It's nice knowing what this is going to be. Right now it looks pretty much perfect as to what I can see. That's what I say too lol!

There's something I don't like about it, actually. It seems like it's getting too steep too soon. But I do love the structure inside the lift; it's really interesting.

I can't wait to see this come through! It's going to be an insane coaster.

It looks great. I think you will need some lateral's on the lift though, haha. Wonderful job!

Remember what I said on Sunday? I think the shaping might be just a tad off on the drop. It might look better if it was as steep about a gray or yellow lower, but we'll see when the pullout is done.

We have reached a point in this where it is very trivial to guess what we are building, so we are announcing this ride today.

coastercrazy10 and pkiknex25 will be building a recreation of Diamondback at King's Island. We finished the lift and majority of the drop today and have started on the first airhill. With Redline still up, we ran out of Ben's red/green rods and are as far as we can get with Diamondback at the moment. Here are some pictures:

That looks MUCH better. Did Ben re-do his drawings? ;)

Looks like there is a small bump in the heartlining in the POV shot. You could probably just adjust the cross tie or the support to fix it up.

Hmm, the only thing you might want to fix is the turning in the pullout. I'm not sure about the heartlining; maybe make it more gradual. And is there really that much banking on DB?...

It looks awesome guys, the drop is great! Watch the crest though, it's a bit bumpy.

As said, there are a few minor bumps, but for the most part, you hit it spot on with shaping. Let's see this air hill!

Are you really going to make the splashdown at the end? That would be cool. Anyway, this is a nice little (I mean big) coaster.
