Hey, just wondering, but can I have an up-close shot of the technique you are using for the turning part? And also, the 45*supports on the lift? thanks!

I agree with steelspectrum, your supports look great. They're very organized and aren't just random. I'd say your box supports look nicer than some tube supported coasters.

Those radii supports on the turn are interesting. Using the spacers was a good idea on the radii supports. I envy the amount of spacers you have...

Yeah, I have lots. Don't ask how, I don't know. But is that how he does his radii? Cool!

Yes, we're using spacers on the radii supports to best mimic the radius of the turns on diamondback. Here's a picture:
Posted Image
And a picture of the 45 degree supports on the lift (also used on the camel back):
Posted Image

Scale wise, we're at 7.5 feet tall at the lift, and the real coaster is 230 feet tall. So doing the math we get a 1/30.666 repeating scale. So yeah, pretty much 1/30.

Impressive. Potentially going to be one of if not the best model ever. Tube supports can suck it.

So, counting them out (as best as I could) You're using 10 silver spacers and 2 blue ones to every yellow, right? And just in case if this comment is spam, I love what you've got so far! Are you going to gear down the drill? I'm guessing so... but you never know...

Oh yeah, and thanks for the pics!

It's 10 greys and 1 blue per yellow on the first turn, and the second turn alternates between 10 greys and 10 greys and 1 blue. Just 10 greys was too tight.

Another update soon!

UPDATE!

Today Ben and I finished up most of the third hill and got the whole ride working. We had to tape down the radii supports in the valleys, but hey, it works. We're gonna get a little more done today and hopefully have the hammerhead done within a week. Right now, we have pics and a video will be up in a little bit.

I'm guessing they will.
Wow! That's amazing! I know pieces aren't an issue, but you could always put some greys in the supports... ;) Anywho, How tall are the 2nd and 3rd hills? And can I get a close up of how you build the hill's supports (the ground part), and the lateral supports on the turns? thanks. I know, I always ask for close ups. Is it getting annoying?
