Blue Fire! After entering the park fairly early, we went straight for Blue Fire, the new roller coaster for this year. It’s a Mack looper, but it looks just like an Intamin. Many American people tend to call it the ‘weird overbank coaster’… and well, the overbank is weird. When you’re on the ride, though, it feels like it should be like that.
Lateral hangtime in the backseat.
Gump approves! That loop is really a tall one. And do you see the twisted horseshoe roll thingy?
The seats included pulse meters. The knowledge that you’ll be launched in just a few seconds can really increase your pulse… if you’re a n00b.
After a ride we bought ourselves a Blue Fire t-shirt and headed back to the entrance to empty the ATM. And there we saw Europe’s tallest coaster again: Silver Star.
Silver Star is a B&M Megacoaster, almost 250 feet tall, and can be seen from almost anywhere in the park. When I went to Italy earlier in the summer, we passed by the park when we were on the Autobahn and Silver Star is easily the tallest object around there.
Silver Star’s capacity is top-notch and with three trains, the queue was not that long. Until we hit the separate first row queue. There we got the chance to take several pictures of Silver Star’s lift. To quote Rhys: “Awesome awesome awesome!”. Our first ride was in the front and the view was just insane. It’s not as intense as Expedition GeForce (which we had to skip unfortunately), but it sure is taller and faster.
It was a hot day and with two water coasters in the park, we decided to get closer to acquiring a Coaster Bingo, by riding Poseidon! Actually when we headed for Poseidon, we first rode Pegasus, the very smooth kiddy coaster by Mack, right underneath Poseidon. It was a walk on, and a quick ride, so we got in the queue for Poseidon. When I was there with my parents, I had waited there for 2 hours, but luckily we had to wait for about an hour.
Europa Park knows how to theme their rides.
And of course, Silver Star beats anything in the park when it comes to height. Ow wait, there’s also a panorama tower… :/
Ah, water! More! More!
Great, a splash! Best way to get your girlfriend soaking wet is to let her ride Poseidon. He really is a god when it comes to that.
Next roller coaster was Matterhorn Blitz, a wild mouse, located in a … barn! The queue lead through the barn, where we could see pigs, horses and queue-jumping kids. We sure kicked their ass when we got ‘em. The vertical lift of this ride had a car going up and down simultaneously, which was a weird experience, as you moved sideways as well.
Headchoppers for the win!
We all loved Silver Star and when we saw it through the trees, we couldn’t resist to take a nice picture.
Another coaster was Atlantica SuperSplash. Just like Poseidon very popular during the summer. Yes, it is another Mack water coaster. The queue leads you through the station, then goes back outside and then leads you to the station platform.
You are a pirate!
It’s the Humpinator!
Ah, that’s the ride we’re waiting for.
Atlantica SuperSplash sure lives up to its name, dayumn.
So what do you do when you got your girl wet?
Indeed, rape her like Persephone. [/wtf]
During the day we also rode other coasters, but we did not take pictures all day long. Euro-mir is the blue spinning coaster and was a lot of fun. Maximum height was 1.95 meters, so I was glad the operator didn’t check me… as I am 1.94 meters. There is also EuroSAT, which we rode only once… somehow Rhys and Max were not too fond of it. Let’s not forget the bobsled coaster and the powered coaster. The latter rushed through a mine full of gnomes delving diamonds, lol. Very well themed.
At the end of the day we went outside the park and walked towards the parking lot. From there we took a few sensational pictures.
We then headed towards the hostel and while Rhys and Max were doing … something, I jumped into my bed and before I knew, the next morning came.
The hostel served a very decent breakfast. Much better than that McDonald’s junk. I really needed and I did not dare to think of how lonely the car must have been then.
After breakfast we packed the stuff we wanted to bring along with us to the park and we got moving!
There we were again. The day contained lots of rides on Blue Fire and Silver Star, but we did not take many pictures. This is what we shot from the panorama tower.
It’s an inverted bunny hop!
There we have Euro-mir and Blue Fire in the background. There is just one loop in the whole park and look how beautiful it is.
From the top to the bottom: CARS!, Poseidon mixed up with Pegasus, EuroSAT’s globe and in the left corner Matterhorn Blitz.
AARGH! Silver Star doesn’t completely fit in the picture.
Ah, now it does.
This is the bobsled coaster we were talking about. Max, did you like sitting in between my legs?
Max has skills when it comes to taking pictures from a bin. Rhys is a dirty boy and I…well…I don’t fit in the picture.
In the Silver Star building, there was also an exposition about Mercedes-Benz, which is the sponsor. If you look closely at the car’s front, it looks like it wants to omnomnom you.
Intamin! Ow wait…Mack.
I see a hidden twisted horseshoe roll.
And that’s all the pictures we have to offer that involve Europa Park. That night I fell asleep early again and the next morning… well, you’ll read it in the next trip report.
