Wow, these are very accurate supports. Looks like you need a lot of pieces for that :)

I could never build a woodie with the pieces I have, let alone build one of this standard. This is really good!

Hey, I have good news, and bad news. First, the good news. We finished the cars, the hand rails, and the turn supports. The bad news is that, well, the cars don't make it. If it were a camelback hill, it would make it perfectly, but it isn't. If I lower it any more, I would run into a lot of problems later on. The supports are rock solid, it doesn't shake at all, and I have a 4 car train that is painted, lubricated, and weighted. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would keep lubing the cars and then pushing the train on the track for a good 10 minutes to warm up the lube, then I would add throughout the coaster Pledge Furniture Polish with extra Moisture. Should help a lot for this ride, since it only works on coaster without inversions. How severe is the speed issue?

I just over-lubricated the cars, and ran it for a while, and I got the cars to go onto the turn, but that's it. I'm trying Teflon spray, and it is working better than Valve oil, but it isn't working enough. I'll upload the videos soon. How well does silicone spray work? I now know that to finish a working model of this coaster, I am going to have to do something crazy to get more speed. (not a booster) Currently I have 21 pennies on each car.

Have you take the axles out and cleaned them well before lubricating? Are all the pennies glued in solidly so nothing can move? Are all the wheel assemblies screwed down into the bodies well and evenly so the axles are in the right place?

This coaster looks fabulous! I love woodies and this one is such a perfect reproduction. Well done!

I don't know if this is true, but you might have too much weight on your cars. take off some of the pennies and try it, worse comes to worse, it doesn't work.
For my PJAS project (Pennsylvania Jr. Academy of Science), which is what im testing now, i have to change the weight of the cars for each loop i test, and sometimes too much weight causes it to not make it up to the apex of the loop.
Just an idea...

You think 21 pennies is alot? I've figured out that around 30 pennies is the most you should put per car or else you will loose speed. I would suggest using silicone spray over all other lubricants. Besides washing and cleaning all of you cars, you could add another car. Then it would deffinatly make it.

drop to hill ratio of 5:4, then a flat banked 190 degree turn.
4 cars, all lubricated with silicone, and each weighted with 21 pennies.
Why won't it complete the turn?!?

Could you just raise the lift hill enough to make it go around the turn?

Test video would help. Also, as I said before, you can add another car.

Good news! I lubricated the cars more, and it almost makes it now! I'm just going to add more weight to get the final bit of speed I need. Here is the pic of the train. And Blackkitty, I'm keeping it 4 cars because it is a recreation.

Can I get a close up on your track connections on that turn? I want to see how you get it at that angle.

Do you think you can add just a little bit of pitch to the turn so it is not completely flat? I know the real coaster appears to be completely flat but they lose a lot less speed than Knex coasters. Even if the exit was 1 grey/white rod lower it would probably help.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, like this coaster!
