And now for some big-ass update:

Okay, so first of all, the control panel:

I'm gonna connect it to the arduino by one of those beamer and monitor-cables:

And here comes the real deal!
I finished the second segment, and did a small test-setup.
NOTE: This is only 2/3 of the tower!

OMG... So huge! Epic, can't wait for the outcome. Will it be launched or just lifted?

As I said before, it will be a recre from the Mauer Söhne Power Tower 2, which isn't launched.
You can just look it up on youtube for some of their ride-cycles.
I will automate it with arduino, and I already programmed an At Random auto-mode.

Wow, that's huge! Imagine if that was one segment! The tower would then only be 1/3 of the way completed! :P

EDIT: No, SUCK! You must make it three times taller!

That is HUGE! It looks so real too! My only concern is how your going to keep it from falling over.

Yeah, I was thinking that too, but you can take some clear fishing string and anchor it down to the ground from each of the four sides of the tower at the top. Otherwise, the height will look very realistic once it is finished, and I can't wait to see this thing in action!

Why would it fall over anyways?
If I just make my base big enough, it won't be a problem.

Big enough?

Looks great Bart, can't wait to see this thing finished (and if the expo has enough room for this)

Why would it fall over? Wind maybe? But that's not relevant. The tower will only have forces in the Z axis so fishing line isn't needed.

^ Yeah, that will be enough.
Although I'm not sure if the controlpanel will fit anywhere...

You better have a huge base for this! I'm very impressed.

I love the drop tower. I have to keep some of your design in mind. At some point, I want to make on (because they don't take up much space).

That is going to be a lot of weight very high in the air. The structure will have no problem holding it. Just got to counter balance with the base.

^^ Yup.

^ Yeah, I'm actually doubting if I should do a 3th segment.

Okay guys, so I did a test-setup a while ago:

The problem I have is that it's incredibly hard to set it up.
It's already 9 feet tall, and I don't think I should make it any bigger.
Your oppinions?

I would say keep it like this. Because we also need to set this up at the expo. So i think this hight is good enough.
