Probably my first coaster in months, CliffJumper is a small mine-cart adventure coaster, something like a mini-version of Troglodyte or Forbidden Mine Expedition. I'm building in my brother's room, because there's no room in mine....
Um, yeah, it's themed to a crazy mine cart ride around a cliff. Basically, the ride layout is going to be based around a small area with a couple downward spirals to keep it compact. I've thrown in some random initial theming as you can see, such as a weird spinning blade thingy. Not sure why I put that in, maybe there are some monsters living in the cliff that try to wreck passing carts (I actually impaled one of my cars on the side of the track). Whatever, enjoy the pics...

This reminds me of the old-style coasters. Maybe more crossties would help, and better shaping. This is looking good so far.

Sniggeh: Thanks, is there a specific spot that need better shaping?

Up next is a small high-lateral drop and turn...

There actually really isn't any bad shaping, just the lack of crossties in some spots made an illusion. That turn looks good, and I want to see more. Please continue!

Ok, thanks. And thanks for being the only one commenting on my coaster right now, lol.

So, next is where the 'jumper' part of the ride comes in. The ride gets faster at this point with a large drop and turnaround, coming out of what will be the tunnels inside the cliff (all the previous turns). Ignore the very last few inches of track, it's a little rough.

There will be quite a lot of theming added once the trackwork is done, just so you know.

If you added more crossties, and made the turnaround's turning parts less sharp, it'd be perfect. Please continue.

If you have enough tubing for middle tubing, it would make the track look a lot smoother. I look forward to the theming too.

Sniggeh: Thanks, I'm fine with the crosstie amount as it is but I did fix the turnaround.

St33l: Thanks, middle tubing has been added.

Update, turnaround is fixed and next is an air hill leading into a helix....

Ignore the last inch or so of track there...

Thanks...

Helix time. I'm going to fix those sharp spots at the beginning.

I have a question though..do you guys think I should use a one or two car train? The following picture is how much height I have left, and from here it's just a rise to the brake run. With one car it doesn't quite make it, but with two it does. So should I use one car to make it more mine-cart-ish or two cars for better speed throughout the whole ride?

Mmkay, apparently not much interest. I am updating kind of fast, but it is summer.

So the circuit's complete, and I will be using a two car train. I had to put one of those pusher-things at the bottom of the lift, though. It runs fine, and here's a few pics...

Now for the theming, I will be using brown construction paper to make a rocky landscape around the whole coaster. The cliff itself will be built around the main tower with the track going through it before dropping off. The pre-lift will probably be fully enclosed. I was also thinking of moving it to the basement for more space.

So, any comments?

That looks good! I hope that you create a mountain with paper bag-material! Also, will you add a station or catwalk to the brakes?

I got to love your building style, you build coasters like they did in the oldschool time you know ;) It looks great, i hope you make some good theming around that straight part of track :)

It might not be a 15 inversion lift&launch super mega coaster, but I really like it, a helix pre-drop is awesome.
I like the relaxed layout aswell, it's as if you don't feel under pressure to build the best, but would rather make what you like.

I like it, any themeing going on top?

You said that the 2 cars made it over the last hill into the station, well instead of a pusher before the lift, keep the brake run level and add a chain through the station. Just my 2 cents.

Kevkillerke: Thanks

Sniggeh: Thanks and yes there will be a station and maybe a brake catwalk.

TK: Thanks, and yeah, I can find some theming to do around the straight area like a tunnel or something to make it more interesting.

Moggi: Thanks. There will be some more theming up top, not just the construction paper but maybe some more signs or something.

Dragonz: That is a good idea, but I don't have any spare chain left and I kinda wanted an inclined brake run to give more momentum to the pre-lift.

Okay, so I'm not done with the construction paper yet, there are still a few small areas that need covering but this is most of it. I think it looks pretty cool. Next up is the station.
