Perhaps a lot of the speed is being lost not so much due to the shaping itself but the tightness of the transition into the curve and the curve itself. It's a very sharp corner for where it is on the track. Also, even if it's not necessary, just try and add as many track to support connections as you can on tight corners if the supports are stable. The less energy lost due to flexing the better.

Read the tutorials there is lots of good stuff in there. Is the train cleaned, lubed and weighted? The pull-outs, particularly the first one are too abrupt and will kill speed.

Comet Recreation still underway.

Proof you never grow up if you keep playing with toys!

Sharp transitions and sudden transitions cause a lot of speedloss.

My trains are cleaned and but not lubed. I try to build, without using oil or WD-40

Well, there's your problem. Most of us use some kind of lubricant and it does make a huge difference to the speed your train carries through the course. Just don't lube the track. Only the axles in the wheel assemblies (or at least that's where I use it).

The reason you need a booster is, at the bottom of the hill, because of the way of the direction switches. Yours switches too quickly.

^He really shouldn't be needing a booster at all, he starts of high enough. Boosters are ugly too.

It comes down to proper transitions and clean and carefully lubed axles. Use a proper lube, not WD-40, it chews away at your plastic. Use a silicon based lube and apply carefully, there is a great tutorial on SSC about lubing and cleaning axles. It's not hard, just get the technique right.
