I'm trying to make a multi-directional launch like on Tempesto and Superman Ultimate Flight (SFDK), technically known as a Premier Sky Rocket II. I only knew about those two coasters, but there's actually 4 clones currently open and 2 more under construction.

If I get this to work, Jumpge is planning to copy my design and turn it into a full recreation. I'd like to build the entire model myself, but I won't have enough time while I'm home from college.

So my first attempt is an utter fail. The gears allow me to switch the direction of the chain without stopping the drill motor. The gray gears slide back and forth, alternating which one is in contact with the central red gear. On the track, I disconnected some of the middle tubing so that the chain rubs on the bottom of the train to propel it forward or backward. However, the drill just isn't fast enough, so I'm going to need to use some other means of propulsion. Most likely surgical tubing :P

That's all for now. Merry Christmas!

Wow.. if you get that to work it could be amazing! My suggestion is to use similar supports as the original models, It might not work but I always thought they looked cool how minimalistic they are at the top. It would still be amazing if you don't use those supports though.

Can't wait to see what you can do with it Steel!
I suppose with a skyrocket 2, the backwards launch is the slightly weaker one, so beefing it up a little could work. So you're not using dog tags then? Maybe, as they can only be pushed in one direction, you could, instead of your whole 'rubbing' business affix a small green rod to the bottom or something to transfer momentum more efficiently ? Problem comes slowing it down....

Anyway, I'm sure you'll make it work! Just make sure the launch is curved for accuracy :P

It is going to be a massive challenge, but I have a feeling that you can pull this off.
