I made a tutorial for a lift hill. This is for basic understanding of how to build a lift hill. It is two grays tall,

Anyway, first build a gear housing for the bottom. Here's an example:

IMG_7402.jpg

IMG_7403.jpg

Next add track. You don't want a connection from the track to the ground supports, because then the chain will not work.

Note: You do not want to make the pullins too small. Here's what not to do:

IMG_7401.jpg

Here's a good pullin, using black clips and a small black rod (middle) to connect the track to the structure:

IMG_7406.jpg

IMG_7407.jpg

Notice how the rod the gears are on are directly above the flexi's:

IMG_7408.jpg

Now continue building the structure of the lift:

IMG_7409.jpg

Just build these until your lift is of a desired height:

IMG_7410.jpg

Say you stop here:

IMG_7411.jpg

Now you need a way to connect the top of the lift to the ground to make it sturdy, like so:

IMG_7413.jpg

Once you track it, start on the crest:

IMG_7412.jpg

Add gears after the crest: (Remember, the gear rod should be right above the flexi)

IMG_7414.jpg

Now add the motor. Terrain Trekker motor:

IMG_7415.jpg

SS motor:

IMG_7416.jpg

IMG_7417.jpg

Add track:

IMG_7418.jpg

Don't forget to add middle track:

IMG_7419.jpg

Make sure the track doesn't go too far into the gear:

IMG_7420.jpg

Now add chain (it's best if all the links are in the same direction):

And you're done!

This will help out new people so much who say stuff like "I built my lift perfectly, the best ever, but it won't work." This is a good example though.

Wait, I just noticed you didn't snap metallics across the half moons on the bottom of the lift, was this on purpose?

This helped me...my old chain system didn't work but now it does! Thanks man:) keep up the great work!

EDIT: why do you have the tube go into the middle of the X-ties on the last 2 X-ties?

BTW, Thanks. I didn't realize that the chain was snagging on my other coaster because of tubing. It worked fine on Holiday hawk since I did this.

Instead of doing what DDRman did with the X ties, I loop a rubber band around the end so that it bends down...

I actually got the idea from Speed'o'fear. I'm using it now, and the chain hasn't ever snagged. But anyone can use the method they feel necessary.
