^nothings hitting it, but if you look at the video i posted 0:07 seconds from the end, you can see it mysteriously disappears. which is it flying off. i think its just the pressure of the turning and stuff thats making it go out the window lol no pun intended.

Unless I'm not seeing something, the gearing you have is doing nothing to help increase or lower the speed, it's just making for more gears to be spun. Put the drill on the launch.

ok, i will do that. but only if you are 100% sure it will make it go full speed and have enough energy to lift a 5 car train up to th height of my ping pong table. if not, then i wont bother.

I'm not entirely sure, but the only way you're going to find out is by trying. If that doesn't work gear it with a red gear to a blue gear, giving more speed but less torque.

the way you have it, the gearing is increasing the torque, but not the speed, it's actually deceasing it.
I learned about gears in 6th grade, it's really simple.
Teeth-little things sticking out of the gear, which classifies it as a gear.
EX 1) Gear A has 20 teeth, and gear B has 10 teeth. If A has the power, B is the receiver, then the ratio of the gears is 2:1. Therefore gear B going two times faster than gear A.
EX 2) Gear A has 10 teeth, and gear B has 20 teeth. If gear A is the power, and gear B is the receiver, then the ratio of the gears is 1:2. Therefore gear B is going at half the speed of gear A.

(p)=power
®=receiver
EX 1) Red(p) to blue®=faster
EX 2) Blue(p) to Red®=slower

i think its the pressure and force because its a big gear and theres lots of torque, more than the clip can handle, so the gear makes it fly off.

I think your making it too complicated. just attach the drill straight to the gear rod. It works fast enough for me to get a car onto a 4 foot tall table. Eithor my drill is really good or your drill isnt that great, probably the second one though.

i dont think im going to continue with the launched hyper. i may keep part of the hill structure, for later reference, but no launch. not until im ready for it.

I know you didnt ask for this but I have a idea you should try interlocking loop only like 1-2 people have done this before. BTW dont make up your mind on doing this before you get the veterans opinions on the idea.

so, does anyone have any layout ideas before i start? i think im going to start (after i gave a layout) by laying down the "foundations" (layout, just 2d...) and im pretty sure im gonna pull of those interlocking loops!

wait a second, we can think of a layout using my game! just make sure its reasonable. meaning for me to build. and that it includes interlocking loops...

the train drops out of the station into the lift, which takes you up above the ping pong table. you do a curving drop, which results in a huge immelman drop off the side, leading into...

ok, nevermind, we dont have to do the layout game.

but suggest a layout please. using a ping pong table and interlocking loops.

Do you even go to school? Ever heard of Grammar? It's the study of the way sentences are constructed, and between Knex and Grammar, you're not too experienced in either of the fields.

^Just maybe, you can store your ping pong table somewhere and build it on the ground... I'm sure you can get some more room with that.
Good luck with your loops, I think this coaster needs a lot of height.
