Well after hearing what knexems said, I decided to replace the buckel with a more high off the ground element-a stengle dive. Supporting is not finished...pics..

The tilted angle here is making it look less banked than it really is (look at the floor).

Posted Image

Posted Image

I believe it needs to be heartlined and banked more at the top....correct?? I'll be at KD for most of today, so you guys have all day to comment.:D

Comments please!!

Looks great! It would look better if you banked it more at the top though.

Alright, well the stengle dive was having issues (the train wasn't making it, the train kept hitting the crossties, etc) so I decided to remove it. I'm now trying to decide between several options, so I wanted to know what you guys thought.

(A): Do a large zero-g/corkscrew element.

(B): Do an inclined helix/overbank.

©: Try to redo the stengle dive.

If none of those sound good, then feel free to suggest anything else.:tmbs

Comment please!!

I really like B especially a inclined helix. The question is will you have enough pieces to do it?

I think a stengel would have looked nice, but don't do it if the train is going too slow. I think an overbank would probably look nice instead.

OMG it's an overbank..and helix...which makes it a half inclined, overbanked....nevermind.

Posted Image

Posted Image
Darn resizing squashed this pic a little..

Posted Image

Posted Image

Helix part is obviously unfinished but here's a bit of explanation on the shape. You may notice that the turn goes straight slightly before going into the overbank. This is where it's pulling into the element-it's meant to be there. Also, the helix part will be a tighter circle than the overbank because of how I'm fitting it in. The supporting is complete and yes the car clears it.

Comment please!!

That's one nice, little coaster you have there. I like it a lot. Sorry if I missed it, but how are you going to launch the train?

^Could you point out where this bump is?? I can't see one...oh, and...

Circuit is complete!!

However, there's some good news and bad news. The good news is that..well the circuit is complete. The bad news is...the train doesn't make it up the last hill. Also, I'm using a drill launch and although the speed appears to be good the train keeps falling apart at the joints (I assume that this is normal for drill launches?). So first here's an overview pic (if you'd like more pictures then please request).

Posted Image

Second, here's a list of things I'll have to do before The Illusionist can be completed:

(A): Lube trains (weigh if needed).

(B): Support overbank more (it's been shaking a bit).

©: Reinforce trains for the drill launch.

(D): Add theming, station and queue lines.

(E):Clean up and make final video (final vid is only a possibility).

Comment please!!

My trains have never come apart when I launch them. Maybe you could try taking the hinge part on the backs of the cars and squeezing them to make it tighter. The coaster looks good though, and yes, lube and maybe weight your trains.

Yah, also make sure that you have it be more than a one car train...that would be (uber) lame.

Decision time....(for the 500th time in all of my threads). I was working on an automatic drill launch with some modifications from RWT to fit my base rod. Here's the thing though: I'm having an extremely hard time fitting the switch that turns the power strip on, the gears in the mechanism keep jamming (they're yellow gears that I had to use due to a shortage of red ones) and my chain in the drill launch, though occasionaly succesfull is breaking half the time. Now this will not be canceled, I'm just not sure if all the problems of my automatic drill launch are worth it at all. Plus I'd like to get this finished ASAP. So I have two choices:

(1): Keep the drill, but control it manually to launch the train.

(2): Use boosters (less realistic but fully automatic).

It's your choice....
