Today was the final day of Hotwire operation. Oh well, out with the old and in with the new! I am not going to do anything big for now (More is on the way *hint wink*). But for now I have an idea of a layout for a compact coaster heavily, but not too heavily, themed for Christmas. It will be my first max X tied coaster and features my first rosebowl (Attempt), theming, and compact coaster. here is the layout.

I'm going to need some major help with this one, but still enjoy it in time for the holidays.

UPDATE! I got the lift done. And even better, it works! It's preety speedy because I'm using one of those VV motors. Enough of me, PICS!

Also, try to color coordinate your coaster's supports, it looks much less sloppy. Your gears look like they will be to far down the lift hill, I reccommend moving them further along the crest to avoid complications with the car not making it over.

Actually, I think that's a good height to work with. The layout is pretty short, anyway.

Color Coordinating is overrated.

I'll move the gears down a little. The Cars will be wieghted and lubed so dont worry about speed. Should I make a pre-drop before the rosebowl? Just asking. I'm not color-coordinating or making it any higher. It's perfect in me and steels (and lazors) mind.

The height is fine. Not coordinating your colors really makes your coaster look sloppy. IMO that is a big part of creating a ride. Whatever though, it is up to you not me...

Color Coordinating is overrated.

That's because you're a lazyass.

I see you used my lift tutorial. Definetely move the gears farther when you build more track. Otherwise the train will never make it over.

^ Yeah thanks alot... it helped me compared to hotwire. I value and envy your opinions guys, but I'm not color-coordinating because I dont have the peices to do so... when I get 10k pieces in even colors, then I'll do color-coordinating.
I also moved the gears down; pics up soon. Still waiting for the answer about the pre-drop.

You don't have to color coordinate the entire coaster, just make sections all one color, like make the lift all granites and greens or all reds and yellows. So it's not an issue of piece count.

Also, you don't need all those granites on the lift. I would suggest replacing any 3D connector on the tower structure with only granites attached to it with a gray rod, if you say you have as little pieces as you do.

Ok, first off, stop saying halp, it's help.

Second, that's not even close to the shape of a rosebowl. A rosebowl should start banking from wherever you're dropping from, which I assume the first drop, because it would be unethical to build the middle element... Anyway, it should be like a circle, a drop 180* banked, then back up so it's almost upside down to the point where it's parallel to the lift and near the 'predrop'. Then back down another 180*.

If you couldn't understand that, then stop attempting the rosebowl. Try to just build a simple coaster, because when you want our help, you have to build something that's helpable.

That looks like half of a deformed rosebowl. Make it less bumpy and make a drop into it first. Other than that, just build the track so it will make a slanted circle with what is already built... I hope you understood that.

If you have trouble building an element, look around for other K'NEX coasters with that element to help you. Have a look at this post of TH's rosebowl:

Yeah... uhm... no.

^Thanks sooooo much! I've been looking for a pic of a rosebowl for ages! But here's the question, should I do radii supports? I did those on hotwire and we all know how THAT went. I fixed the bottom sharp spot buck cant fix the one near the top. Pics up soon.
