Dutch Details is currently working on Looping Star, a recreation of the well-known Schwarzkopf looping coaster. The eye-catcher of the ride will be its loop, which is around 1 meter tall, which is slightly more than 3 feet.

The pullouts will probably be supported by tubes, or possibly columns similar to the backbone on the top half. To increase lateral stability, I will have to add two support tubes on the side of the loop that faces away from the audience.

Hopefully I won't have to adjust the train due to it touching the backbone slightly. During testing I will see if it severely affects the ride performance.

The loop should be finished by tomorrow.

EDIT: The final video is here!

You noticed, Dutch Details is attempting another recreation.

You might have concluded that Batman:The Ride is no more due to the enormous speed loss that would cause the ride to be out of proportion.

Due to this coaster mainly being a downward spiral it will be much easier to recreate a ride that is known and reliable. I won't drop many more hints besides this being the expo coaster for the funfair at Oosterhout. The rest is up to our CEO Jochem to announce.

The pullin needs to be much bigger ,I like the idea it's so old school. and could you make the backbone coming strait up and strait down ,instead of it on an angle?

EDIT: Just saw the real ride and realized that the loop is pretty much circular.

That was the idea of the backbone, adding realism. :)

Haha, world domination!

Max is right about it being easy to recreate. I simply have to build a drop that provides enough energy to clear the loop. After that's is easy as pie.

That really looks amazing, can't wait.

Thanks, Arby. :)

I'll get working on it right now. ;)

I think the shape closely resembles a Schwarzkopf loop. And as you can see, the backbones touch the ground at an angle.

.. Something is happening in my pants..

that is AWESSOOOOME.

Shit happens, McMogg. ;)

As soon as I saw it I thought WTF??? Then I read, it looks good!

Yeah, the circular shape sure looks weird, but if you take into account that it's a Schwarzkopf coaster... :)

it looks awesome. you mind if i use something similar for another shuttle loop.

Remember that the loop is more than 3 feet tall and that I don't know yet if the performance will be good enough. I may just have to design new SSC trains, like Tyrant started with.
This type of backbone is rather non-customizable, so a loop with it will always be around 3 feet tall. Not sure you can use 'something similar'.

That loop is absolutely awesome! I know this model is going to be another winner by you.

Well, that's the plan. It would be a good coaster to test some special features on...........

Well your back bone looks a little over angled can you just take one radi out?

BTW: I looked at one of the 100 others that came up on rcdb so I guess there all a bit different.

So now how are you gona get the back bone down the pullin? Maybe you shoudl make acomplete loop first then ad the supports later.

I think the loop is too circular... ;)
It looks great, although I'd have to agree with TBM, it looks like the angle at which yours touch is just slightly larger than the other picture you posted.

If I have any complaints it's that the backbone connects to the base at 2 angles. Not like it makes any difference, it looks great.

I love it! Amazing idea with the radii, they look extremely realistic. If you start having troubles with the cars rubbing on the supports, you could try sanding the wheel compartment down with sandpaper.

Schwarzkopf loops are circular, and you can't really tell until the pull-ins are done, they are not supported yet so they sag.

Let me do a textual update here. I made a radial grid to help me keep the right radius on the first drop. First, I will be building the drop with box supports, because another turn will be connected to the tube supports. I'd rather have that turn built and shaped before I put in any tube supports.
Hope to get you some pictures today, will have to ask someone else again (the repair guys repaired the initial issue with my camera, but caused a short-circuit).
