Hello everybody! For the past month or so, me and SteelWay ahve been working on this project. I can't say I'm the first because I don't know if I am, but I feel this is a very interesting new design. It's an elevator lift! I figured I should share this with everybody now that I'm done so here it is. It's completly automatic and can run for a while as seen in teh video. Also, please don't complain about the layout. It's not what this ride is about. Enjoy and Comment!

That's really neat! You should make a tutorial on how to make it like jasper did in the jasper luanch.

...and just as I was about to post my own automatic elevator prototype.

But wow, that looks amazing, and very compact design. Wish you could have filmed from a different angle so you could the how the whole counterweight system works. Great job.

That is amazing! Atleast one of you should post a tutorial for your method. I would really like to use this in a future coaster!

Heres another video more focused on showing how the thing works. Right now I have it working on timing alone. I'll explain some. As the weight gets brought back to the top and as the carriage goes down, the carriage locks into place. The car then comes and hits a switch and releases the carriage. Soon after the train leaves the carriage at the top, the connectors on the chain lift the weights back to the top and then the process repeats.

Wow, complex, yet simple. How long did it take you to make this? In other words, how many pillows did you puch before you came out with this? ;)

Awesome! Since the timing isn't perfect, does the elevator sometimes not make it to the top?

^Yes. Sometime the carriage will still be trying to release the cars when the conterweight begins climbing to the top. That only happens between 2-5 minutes depending on how well I get the timing.
^^Well I started in mid July when Steel suggested I try something new. The automation part didn't come around util about 3 days ago when RWT gave me some help on how to do it.

Big thanks goes to Steel, RWT and all of SteelWay. Without them this wouldn't have happened.

Awesome, I love it! The elevator is simple, quick, and effective (the opposite of my Round About lift pretty much :P).

Only thing that it needs is a way to hold the car in the station until the right time, so that the timing doesn't get off after 2-5 min. That could be done easily, you just need a trigger that the counterweight hits at the top of the elevator which releases a car from the station.

Wow thats really innovative and sweet, i would have expected the first model of the elevator to be much bigger. You did a great job compacting it!
