Well here's my latest coaster! It's a launch coaster with an inclined immelmann. The launch is pretty powerful, as it can launch a weighted four train through the element with good speed. I'm not sure about the name yet, so suggestions would be helpful.

What do you think? Is there anything that needs fixing before I add the final supports?

The element looks fine to me. Any chance we could get more detail on the launch?

Very cool element! The heartlining might be a bit abrupt right after the launch, but that's the only problem I see. The launch looks nice too.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks!

Yeah, the train is pulled by a small section of chain links. They are connected to a length of string that go through pulleys to reach the bottom of the launch. There, the string is connected to a couple rubber bands which pull the trains. On the other end, the chain is connected to another string that stops it from going too far. The chain is held back by a rod that moves up and down, which you can see in the last picture. It's pretty simple, but it works really well.

Very cool element! The heartlining might be a bit abrupt right after the launch, but that's the only problem I see. The launch looks nice too.

I think I'll keep it as it is, and thanks.

Wow, that means a lot.

I built most of the supports for the immelmann, and made it turn more at the bottom. I'll try to have an update in a few days, so keep watch.

Awesome! I always wondered if a rod linkage holding the chain would work well, in other words, whether or not the motor could overcome the friction caused by the chain pulling on the rod...but looks like you answered my question.
I tried designing a mid-layout rolling launch (one that the train encounters while it's already moving) and the idea was the same as yours except that the chain would be released by the cars hitting a rod linkage (above the track) that would pull the chain-stopper out and release the launch...but it was a fail because the train did not have enough force to evercome the friction on the trigger rod. sorry to rant, your coaster looks very nice!

^Thanks, and actually there wasn't enough friction to keep the chain on, so I put two small rubber bands on the chain link, but then there was too much, so I lubed it a little bit, and now it works great.

Well after almost a month, I think it's time for another update. As you can see from the pictures, I supported it and added a large turn at the bottom. I plan on having it continue to raise and turn until it doubles back on its self. This will make the coaster quite compact.

Thanks to all who commented!

Anyway, I built some more and I want to show you. I also got a test video of the speed. Keep in mind that I can easily make it a lot faster with a very simple adjustment of the launch.

I want to finish before this before the end of the year, so I need to build fast. Comment!

The smothness and transitions are epic. It shakes a little bit at the immelman. MAYBE you could add a little lateral here:

^I don't think there's really need for, the shaking is so tiny. The shaping looks good, do you've got any idea what to build next?
