I'm having trouble making a VV vertical lift. Whenever the car(s) gets to the top the chain always jams. It for some reason won't work.

I'm having the same problem.
Try using a large black gear at the top. The black gear is good at pushing the chain dog out.

You have to have track support connections as close to the gear as possible. In my Opinion use a black gear but use red gears for the motor because it grips really well.
