I know post counts are somewhat important, to point out the spammers and for other reasons, but what's the real reason, and for some, the importance of it? I don't really mind my post count because I know my posts were legit and had a meaning or reason to be posted, but I don't know why some members worry about it so much and try to boost it.
Member of a few physics experiments; Orchestrator and/or Copyist for a few musicals.

Has to do with status for some, more posts means you know your way around the forums. Yet most posts have no meaning if you are just going to reply to threads with "Cool coaster!" or only comment in game threads.

It seems like this thread really took away from the weekend. Some members have been focusing on posting in this one thread instead of spreading the activity all around the forums. This thread was a great idea, but apparently it should have been managed a bit more strictly.
