On that note, I was in the 10th best band program in the US last year. For those who may not know, every year in Indianapolis Bands of America hosts a grand national competition, attended by about 90 of the nation's best marching band programs. About 33 bands make semi-finals, with only the 12 best (and let me tell you, they're GOOD!) bands making Finals. Last year the band I was in (William Mason) received 10th place, making finals for the first time. This year they got 8th place, however I moved away to the 34th best band from the year before. My new band (Dublin Coffman) did not attend grand nationals this year but will be returning next year.

This is Dublin Coffman from this year
Hope you enjoy! I play clarinet BTW

So in reading the Music Discussion thread I found that a lot of bandies were in there posting stuff about band. While this is entertaining to bandies, the other people on there talking about their "music" were getting kinda ticked off, so I decided to start a bandie/marching band only thread.
I thought about starting a thread like this, but thought that it would not be posted on much.

With a new (and more strict) band director, I think that this concert is going to be so much better than last year's Middle School Band Concerts.

I went to Lakota East. We never did BOA, but we've kicked serious OMEA ass. The marching band has never gotten below a I at contests in school history (Lakota split in 1997).

I love marching band! Our band is really small though but we are powerful! We have 27 in all, color guard members and band members. I play clarinet too 1 of 3 are in the band but in concert band I play oboe! For marching band what are your uniforms like? My uniformis a patriot! We are called the marching patriots, but at competitions everyone in our division says that we are the red coats but everyone else wishes they could have our uniform and mascot! Around school the football players love our band when we went to an away game the crowd started throwing water bottles at us when we were walking onto the field and when we walked off after our preformence the football players surronded us like the serect sevise so no one would mess with us! how about you guys? Does your school like your marching band?
Marching Band is the shiz in my school. Since our football program is terrible, music is what my school is best at. My high school band has 68 people in it, and the middle school band has 26 people in it. When both bands are combined (which we do sometimes) we have 102 members.
My concert went great. In one of the songs, I played xylophone. I grabbed a pair of malets, only to realize when we began to play, that they were mismatched. -__-
