Knex has released the 2.0 version of the brick motor. The new motor has , besides the usual forward/off/reverse switch, a gear box switch that puts the motor in neutral or in gear. Now when you incorporate this brick motor into your coasters you can disengage the motor and advance the chain manually without disconnecting the motor from the coaster. As the auto commercial used to say, "this changes everything"!

That sounds pretty good and could make a lot of stuff. I recently saw an automatic gate thing which could use something like this. What sets does this new motor come in?

The brand new road rally sets, 4 vehicle sets, contain the new motor. They components are 90% brick, 10% micro knex. Include some 1x24 bricks, something no company has ever made before, and useful for building lengthy frames.

The product is so new (hit the shelf at TRU in Los Angeles yesterday that there is no mention of the line on the Knex website yet. Their summer releases include the above rally sets and a new set of 4 large aircraft builds, 3 jets and a helicopter, featuring the return of the classic Knex cone :-}.

I heard they were making a new launch motor for the micro type coasters.
