I'm currently working on making special k'nex parts with a 3d printer so that I can ad special components like motors, sensors, programmable microcontrollers (arduino),pneumatic and spring operated parts to my builds.
My goal is to make the parts easy to mount in any project.
I will post some of the pictures of the progress on this forum.
Any ideas are welcome. =)

To do list.

cable holders
servo/stepper/motor mounting hubs
proximity senors
leds rgb/regular
Arduino / raspberry mounting hub
spring cylinders
pneumatic cylinder/valves
special gear ratios
coaster car with hd camera?

Done

regular k'nex connectors (black parts are printed)

Wow, that's awesome. I am going to keep asking you guys with access to 3D printers this until someone comes through...

What's it going to take to get someone to make up the part to convert a front SS car to a middle SS car. It is simply a combination of the regualr ball on the front of middle cars and the nose attachement of the front car. As I am currently building trains it would be really nice to know if this might actually happen...

Edit: If you make me some of these I will pay double whatever the material costs are plus any shipping. I think lots of people would like these because then you can use a front car as a rear, with chain dog, and still be able to go back to using it as a front.

I could try to make those but sadly don't have any ss cars. So it would be hard for me to get measurements right if i made the 3d model myself. I could make them for if you could get a 3D model of it.

Turns out my dad's work office has one. They are currently using it to print giant lego like brick for a LEGO themed Halloween level. He might be able to print those ball joint things. ForGotToGrowUp. He would just need the files. That and a reason. Could you send 'em?

I don't have any file :-(

I was hoping some of the guys already printing might have what they need. It's the front part of the front connector of a middle car attached to the back part of the connector between the nose and body of a front car.

You should make actual tube supports like Coaster Dynamix but compatible with KNEX pieces.

FYI

That part I am trying to get printed.... Just realized SamIsSoAwesome is the originator of that picture I keep posting. Maybe he will provide it to someone willing to print it.
