Why would they add more

inspections like that? Besides even if they did have a stronger cable and paid more

attention. That doesn't mean taht the cable won't snap right after they

inspect it.

I was talking off of what

you said, they should inspect it better. Plus, a stronger cable may mean less

flexibility."

I qouted what you said! It was not in quotations

so you did post that. I don't misqoute people!

Actually that was something I said...

"Stronger cable and pay more attention to it during inspections. Simple.

"

Read page 2.

westside did take a direct quote from his post, and

gforce even said what jumpboyb said differently. what matters is gforce still holds the

same opinion as jumpboyb which is what westside was attacking in the first place. the

whole "That's not what I said" garbage is besides the point.

Actual I don't have the same opinion as Jump.

If you read page 2 you would see what I'm saying. Jump said they should pay

more attention to it during inspections. I said in that case, they'll have to inspect

it after every launch. Then Jump said Why would they add more inspections like that?

And I said I was talking off of what you said, they should inspect it better. I was just

explaining myself, not giving my opinion.

Sorry for the confusion.

o, i see then. i thought when you said you were

"talking off what he said" you meant you were restating what he said and

agreed with it.

anyway, my closing argument: it was an accident and

accidents happen. they cant always be prevented. i dont think cedar point will take

any huge actions such as shortening the train length or instepcting the cable every ride,

but they will find out what happened to the cable and do their best to prevent it

happening in the future. the things the media says are always more beefy than they

really are which is what grabs the viewer's attention. freedom of the press at its

best.

I love how everyone is trying to say what CP should

do to resolve this problem when we don't even have any facts, nor do any of you

(and neither do I....yet) have a Masters or Bachelors in any field of engineering....

I say leave it up to the pros.....

And we shall just keep on bashing

Well, it looks like some things are looking up. I just

saw on the webcam, all the trains were on the track; I could see two in the station and

none on the transfer tracks! Also, there is the big line of people outside the

enterance. Maybe those people are just wishful thinkers and the ride isn't going

to open for a while but at least the trains are back on!

I totally agree with tryant on this, everybody thinks

they know what really happened and what needs to be done, well, I'm betting if

you don't work as a mechanic for TTD or for a high position in management

then you don't really know at all what's going on and what needs to be

done. I am really glad though that the cable did not hit the riders DIRECTLY. I spoke

with a ride-operator of dejavu at one visit to magic mountain, and he had said one of

the many reasons for the gates going from the floor to ceiling was because if the cable

snapped it would just about kill almost everybody in the station. I can see this being

possible because the cable isn't guarded in a trough or anything. So if dejavu

could to that, I'm sure TTD would be catastrophic. I hope they don't put a

huge plexi glass defleter or something on the front of the train, I don't think that

would happen though because it would probably take off a precious amount of speed.

Just my two cents.

I really wouldn't mind if

they put a windshield or something. I mean I'd rather them add some ugly

feature than have someone get killed and loose the ride all together.

I've heard reports that the ride is being tested but

has not seen riders yet. I've also heard the ride is closed indefinitely.

;)

I'll try

to watch the webcam some more.

ok, lets go back to English class...

in·def·i·nite ( P ) (n-df-nt)
adj.

Not definite, especially:
a.

Unclear; vague.
b. Lacking precise limits: an indefinite leave of absence.
c. Uncertain; undecided: indefinite about their plans.

That does not

mean TTD is closed forever, just until further notice. As for it being tested. I

don't know. They have been working on it all day, and a employee said They

have to test it a bunch, then inspect alot, and then test it more.

What I can

tell by the webcams is that the trains are definatly off the transfer tracks.

EDIT:TTD is now open, tons of people in line!

If you want to see dragster live in a streaming cam go to

cleveland.com, cams and raidos, cedar point cam, click in the top left were it says see

video version. The train is hard to see but at least it is streaming...

Yes, it does appear to be working! I think the

article about it being down indefinitely was just making stuff up.

Well, it is closed now due to weather. Here in Detroit,

MI, we just got a big storm, now Snadusky got it. I rode Magnum in the rain and that

hurts. I can't imagine Dragster in the rain!

This overall wasn't a big problem. I read

somewhere I believe pointbuzz.com that the state inspectors were not even going to

come out because there were no severe injuries...The media completely blew this out

of proportion.

OK now get this, riders are now saying they were

treated unfairly! They were all givin line jump passes for TTD and from what it

sounds like they just want more freebies!

This is the only thing I don't like about how

Cedar Point handled the problem. They just gave them a free line pass for any ride. If

I was Cedar Point I would have given them a total refund for that day, another 1 day

free tickets, and a person Apologizing as much as possiable to say "Cedar Point

is truely sorry"
