I'm still working on straightening the launch track.

What are the mechanics behind the launch?

Cool launch, seems pretty fast. It looks like there is a bump at the end of it though.

I think it looks really good and the launch looks really well down. Straightening it out will help a lot on speed for later use.
Embedding them is just this:

It's just the youtube tags and then the last part of the youtube link without any of those asterisks.
Edit: So basically you can copy and paste what I put and then delete the asterisks.
Also, you can edit your own posts so that you don't have to post twice in a row. (:
Thanks!
Good speed on that launch. Never really tried to build one myself so I'm not the greatest at judging this sort of thing (that's why I'm doing Civil engineering ) but I can see enough to say that you could certainly get a nice coaster with that.
Thanks Man- good luck with your career
What are the mechanics behind the launch?
Essentially, the motors are geared so that they gain torque, and the motors pull back an elastic band which is connected the some chain, which hooks on to the car. The motors actually wind up fishing line to pull back the band. (I know that most likely made no sense I will post a video on here showing how it works this weekend) The switch's job is to move one gear out of place, so it releases and the train rockets away.
Cool launch, seems pretty fast. It looks like there is a bump at the end of it though.
The only problem I'm having now is a possible slight decrease in speed. I can't tell for sure though. Furthermore, that bump is something I am working on right now.
Looking good other than the decline at the end! Did you come up with that launch by yourself?
Thanks, and yes I did. If people want me to I suppose I could post a tut for it.
Thank you all for being supportive. I hope to work on the coaster more this weekend and next week.
EDIT: just realized i screwed up quoting and double posted

Finished the first incline, sorry if the pictures are bad quality, they looked fine from my computer.

"Oh, I am not like the launch at all... some might say I am the reverse." Bonus points to anyone who knows what I'm referencing. Anyway, I feel like the pullout could be wider by just a yellow rod. There seems to be a straight spot in the 3rd picture from the 2nd to third yellow rods.

You my friend are referencing Mr. Thawne, Eobard to be exact!
