where do you put the track and how is it automatic?

When you look at this picture:

Look at the structure on top. You will notice that there are 2 small black rods with nothing attached on the end. This is where you put 2 crossties (the track pieces). Then you can fill in the gap between to make it a continuous track.

It's automatic because when the train passes over the track, it hits a trigger. This turns on the SS motor, which goes through one cycle, turning the power strip on and back off, and turning itself off. Once built, you never have to touch it again to activate it. Assuming you built it right.

Hope that helps.

All you need to do is plug the drill (or any electric motor) into the power strip. It is up to you to decide what you want to do with the drill. DDRman has already adequately explained how to install the track.

Also it is important to note that the tutorials on this site are not here so we can hold your hand through every step of building your roller coaster. There here to give you tools which allow you to be even more creative on your own.
This doesn't mean we aren't willing to help you with your project. Just remember that people will be much more willing to help if you have already put in effort yourself and been creative on your own.
