Hey all! I have a couple sets and plan on starting a coaster one of these days...I have been searching and havent found any really good threads on terminology. Im refering to the different parts and elements of a coaster. If someone could list the different names and defintions alittle, that would help me alot?

IE. Crest, pullout, etc...Im not sure exactly where these are on a coaster.

Thanks,
Jace

crest - top of lift where the track curves into the drop.
pullin - the gradual slope upwards to a hill.
pullout - the bottom of a drop where the track eases to horizontal.

here are some pics of elements:

Crest is the top of the lift hill like this.

The pullout is the part of the coaster that gets parallel to the ground.

EDIT: I think ^ he covered it a lot better than me.

Thanks for the welcome...
I really want to start with a smallish woodie. Nothing too crazy, and I know they use alot more pieces, but I like the look of the ones I have seen on here.

I was going to include a station with chain, and was curious if anyone had some pics with roof and floor? I have seen a couple but not really any pics that concentrate on the station itself.

Anyone know of any software to help out with the layout, other then drawing on graph paper?

Thanks,
Jace

I will add a thread in "Construction" with pics when I get going!

Those are great examples. Thanks...I really like that last one! It wouldnt fit the realistic side of a woodie but hot as hell regardless...

Thanks again.
